Food & Drink v good, staff & service very good. The only downside was the fact that a non-optional 10% service charge was added to our bill(2 people dining). Didn't appreciate this, their loss though 'cos we invariably wud've left a much higher staff tip than the service charge was. So unfortunately the excellent staff missed out, as is usually the case sadly.

Restaurant staff were excellent, professional, courteous, helpful and friendly . My starter of octopus and lentils was superb however the main was over seasoned and salty, chees boards was good. Overall we would return, not least for the excellent service.

Very enjoyable Afternoon Tea.

Great welcome. Quick seating and I was offered the second glass of Prosecco as my friend is tee total. The selection of food was a varied menu and made the choices harder. Ended up having three courses and we were happy with all of the choices made.

Good experience overall. Food good. Service pleasant. First course seemed to take a long time before being served.

We were welcomed in by your restaurant manager & shown to our window table (very nice). Order our 3 course meal + a glass of house white, really good for the house wine. Main course we both had Chicken salad, a good display & full to the sides. Deserts I had peanut ice cream & my wife had treacle tart which she said was very nice ,but pastry too hard. I paid the bill, was not expecting VAT on top of the £20.99 that was advertised on line. Otherwise we had a good lunch!

The booking service was first class and we really enjoyed the cote du pork dish. However, I ordered a pint of draft Mad goose prior to ordering our food only to be informed the bar was closed and no draft beer available so I had a bottle of UBU. When I returned home later and checked the bill I had infact been charged for the mad goose which was a little disappointing.

We had pre-booked a table for the evening of Thursday, 17 May at 7.30 and to our utter disappointment we waited an hour for our meal, which never came. In the waiting period we had a bottle of wine, still water and bread of which we were not asked to pay for. Having dined with you on numerous occasions we were astonished that this occurred to us last night and frankly upset our evening plans. There seemed to be a 'conference party' going on and can only assume that they were more important than us!? As already stated we have always found The du Vin an excellent place to dine including the ambiance and service. I do not expect this comment to be printed for all to see but I think you should be aware of this unfortunate occurrence. I have not rated restaurant, food etc this time.
