We each had an excellent dinner on Saturday and thank you for the recommendations for wine to accompany the meal. There was also a very good atmosphere and the service was excellent. Full marks all round.

A much-loved local favourite in Crouch End, Bistro Aix offers a menu of timeless French favourites in an artful setting. Velvet drapes, lush foliage and sprawling Renaissance-style murals deck out the bohemian dining room.

The Bistro Aix menu focuses on tried and tested, simple yet luxurious French flavours, all complemented by a predominantly French wine list, broken down by the main-producer regions. Starters include the likes of classic l’escargot, tempura artichokes, and Pernod-flambeed prawns with fennel salad. For main, indulge in wood pigeon with peas & bacon, or steak tartare with traditional garnish & fries.

Bistro Aix in Crouch End is known for its elaborate dessert menu, with French favourites link tart Tatin and millefeuille served alongside thick-churned, homemade ice creams made in house, and fine La Fromagerie cheeses. There are daily set menus, and a French spin on the traditional roast served on Sundays.

A charming neighbourhood dining spot, Bistro Aix in London is found in an upmarket area of north London, a 12-minute walk from Hornsey Train Station.

As wonderful as ever Food is very good, service excellent, and a lovely atmosphere. Very good value if you don't go mad on the wines!

The restaurant was gorgeous, with a lovely atmosphere. The service was impeccable.
The guinea fowl was excellent - both me and my friend had it.
The desserts were ok but not divine.
The wines by the glass were a little disappointing- not plenty of choice of French wines.
But overall was a good experience for mid-week meal. I would definitely recommend.

This is a gem of a place, mysterious paintings on the walls, carefully selected music playing in the background, relaxed but efficient and knowledgeable service, outstanding wine list, exciting menu with something for everyone, well presented and tasty food, nice surprises in dessert options, simply great!

A very cosy restaurant with excellent French cousin. Well recommended.

It was disappointing. A starter souffle with a.burnt top and so little sauce round it there was no point even putting it there, Duck that was tough and overcooked in parts. Lighting so dim that these faults weren't apparent before eating the food. Very few choices for wine by the glass, and not very interesting ones - though plenty by the bottle.
Dessert was good, the flambe'd meringue.

We had a pre-cinema meal and went with the pre-7pm and lunch menu. Reasonable choice unless you wanted mainly meat and excellently cooked. Nice ambience; calming, professional.
