Have been here once only, and I say its been great! Wasn't sure if I wanted to eat there as from outside Bintang Restaurant looks very small - as you are inside its OK - cozy and cool Malaysian art deco - all make sens to me and I felt great and comfortable there. We (2 couples) were sited upstairs - they have got floor downstairs to. Food - we had: jasmine green tea (best I have ever had) beer our boys could buy next door and bring in as this place doesn't have license for alcohol, starters: spring-rolls - good and crispy prawn Tempura absolutely fantastic!!!!! then:laksa chicken soup we asked not to spice too much they did it as should be - great dish!!!! Plain Singapore noddles great!Duck Ulek was too hot for me wanted hot but killed the flavor. Katsu Carry chiken and prawns was ok nothing special. Especially LOVED their Chicken lemongrass with rice! Seriously a MUST try! Service - was good - all our questions were answered promptly, we were well looked after. Small place, simple, cheap and delicious :) I would add on more thing, as I was saying good by manager came to ask how was the experience - I was privileged to meet his brothers and father who 45 years ago opened this restaurant. This is truly family business and congratulations as nowadays is not easy to find family businesses like that so well established. Great !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Bintang on 30.04.2011. The food was, warm, tasteless and overall disappointing and the general service was very poor. In fact we were given our bill when we had not yet finished our time at the table; we had not asked for it; it was only 09:50 p.m. and the resturant was not even that busy. The guy in charge just laughed this point off and so we left and did not pay the gratuity fee as there was little to be grateful for. [...]
