Looking out over the Keizersgracht, one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam, intimate BIHP international restaurant has an art gallery in the basement.
Dishes on offer range from roast duck to fish of the day to Greek orzo. To accompany the meal there is a good choice of red, white and rosé wines and a varied selection of whisky and cognac. For dessert you have choices such as chocolate cake with red wine sauce and frozen lemon and pine nut mousse.
You could even choose the 'skip dessert' option. Even though you pay for a dessert, you don't receive one. Instead, the proceeds go to Orange Babies, a charity who provide medicines for HIV-positive expectant mothers in Africa. This reduces the chance that the child will also be infected by around 50%.
As well as offering tasty food and a chance to enjoy the arts, BIHP in Amsterdam is also a socially aware restaurant.
