This was an excellent evening, the set menu with glass of wine was good value, service was exemplary, we had a member of the team looking after us who could not have done more to make our experience a great one. Despite sticking to our deal, and not ordering any additional drinks, the service remained first class throughout. Thank you.

We had the afternoon tea and it was absolutely brilliant! One of the best we had.

The room is stunning, and even on a Tuesday evening, all tables were full by about 7.20 p.m. We had the Bookatable special offer menu, which disappointingly was not the one on the website when we booked the previous Saturday. Choice of three courses. Cold soup was flavoursome. Tuna salad was good, but only three pieces of tune the size of 50p pieces... The lamb main course was mainly bone and fat. It also really needed sides, but we hadn't known that and weren't advised by our waiter. Dessert was an arctic roll, which was good and very pretty to look at. We have been here several times (maybe 6 or so) over the last 18 months, and this was the first meal that we've had which was poor. I hope it's just a blip.

The special deal was excellent value though you could easily spend a lot more if you are lured into more drinks and the (not included) main list of desserts. The staff were very good and the food was fine.

Booked the Star Deal of 3 courses and a glass of wine @£29.50 per person. Our waiter was professional and polite. Good pace between courses, did not feel rushed. Our booking was for 2.00 pm and the restaurant was fairly full on arrival, with a good ambience, noise level was good, probably due to the high ceilings, the room is elegant with large windows. We ordered cocktails on arrival which took a little time to arrive. My husband had the octopus to start, followed by lamb and then cheese, all of which he thoroughly enjoyed, his favourite being the octopus. I had the tuna nicoise, followed by hake and arctic roll, my favourite being the hake, which was perfect.

We liked this restaurant, even at the first sitting the sat me between two seats which was extremely uncomfortable. I asked to be moved and were moved with no problem. We had the set menu and the food was delicious, we enjoyed it very much. I think they would benefit from having a different set menu every month. My husband had the beef which was perfectly cooked and I had the fish, which I was good, slightly overcooked I think. but very nice nevertheless. I would happily go again.
