Good food, amazing service!

A wonderful evening, although I wasn't aware that it was going to be served at a table in the bar not the actual restaurant, it was a truly awesome food experience, the staff were fabulous, friendly and well informed and nothing was too much trouble. Having eaten in this restaurant in the past, I can only say the food and DRINKS (wow the Green Spice Mai tai was sublime so much so that we absolutely had to have more of this one and the Passion Fruit Chill Vodka one) incredible as always and thoroughly enjoyed spoiling not only my husband on his birthday but treating our now old enough kids to this very extraordinary culinary experience.

Everything was excellent. Great cocktail and delicious food

This was an anniversary lunch for my wife and I and all our children. We decided on the Thali lunch with two largely vegitarian diners it offered a great choice. The food is deceptively simple and quite delicious. This is my second visit here and it is probably my favourite London restaurant. The service is exceptional and relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. The maitre'd and our waiter were fantastic making sure that we were all happy with our Thali selection, moving some things out bringing others in. Then bringing extras at the end more fabulous breads and some rice to mop up the sauces. Altogether a really great lunch experience with a lovely little surprise at the end. Thanks to all at Benares for making it a special occasion.

Food was excellent, service was impeccable, no faults whatsoever. Staff were very attentive, but not overly so, and extremely friendly.

Food was good but we weren't told that we would be sat in the bar on stools rather than at a table - not a great experience.

Absolutely divine cocktails, we had the green spice and passion fruit cocktails and they were amazing. Delicious food, all brilliantly presented and didn't have to wait at all. The service was exceptional, the waiters were on hand, quick to bring drinks, knew all the ingredients in the dishes. We sat in the bar area and the atmosphere was brilliant.

We were not really impressed, unfortunately. We did not like serving food

We tried the street food tasting menu, and unfortunately we were really disappointed. The food was pretty average at best, which we were both surprised by - my friend had been wanting to try the food here for ages. I can genuinely, easily name around 30 Indian restaurants in London with better food. On a positive note - the cocktails were excellent.
