Food was lovely - fresh sandwiches, warm scones in ample quantity.
BUT - served in bar area - staff pleasant but not aware of booking & waited for approx. 30 minutes while food prepared. Drinks therefore served much too early

we were very disappointed, I did send email yesterday, my mums 94th birthday, we tell the waitress who was lovely , and did apologise to us all, but we waited 50mins before the serveing, scones tasted of washing up liq, more cake than sandwich for what we paid £80.00 never again very poor, sorry to say, but it did ruin a lovely finish to my mums birthday yours faithfully Pauline brooks

This was the worst afternoon tea me and my wife have ever had for £40 for two people! Actual food was totally different to the menu as advertised on Afternoontea.co.uk! It had none of these 'savouries' as promised on the menu: roast beef with celeriac and horseradish remoulade, smoked duck orange scented carrot and micro salad, Cheshire cheese and Heritage tomato, Smoked salmon, caviar creme fraiche and pickle cucumber'. What we had was only some simple sandwiches with prawn cocktail, egg mayo, and ham & cheese. Also, we didn't have the scone selection as per the menu on Afternoontea.co.uk: Warm vanilla, pumpkin and pumpkin seed, cinnamon, whit chocolate and banana, and milk chocolate. Instead we were only served with simple scones with cream (not even Cornish clotted cream!!!) The desserts were also not matching the menu! What a waste of £40 by a dishonest restaurant!! We are angry and disappointed!!! :(

Overall very disappointed. I booked the Lanson Champagne Tea for 4 but was not even offered a glass of champagne. The refreshments were ordered on arrival and after 20 minutes I had to ask a waitress where they were. The sandwiches were poor and no choice was given. I would have opted for vegetarian given a choice. The refreshments came and we're all wrong. The staff were not experienced at all and another point I would like to make is that it was Mother's day so a little soft background music would have been well received. Overall poor value for money, however the venue and setting was lovely. Will not be returning.

We waited 30 minutes then asked again and no one knew what was happening or where our food was. We had a few sandwich fingers then lots of cakes which we couldn't eat and 1/2 cup of tea each. £40 was completely too much for what we got and the service.

Seated straight away then ignored for 30 minutes - had to go to member of staff to enquire about when we would be served. Coffee and cakes arrived some 10 minutes later, with sandwiches arriving 5 minutes after that. Asked for 2 of our 3 party to have vegetation option. 9 tiny sandwiches arrived, these had obviously be prepared sometime earlier as were crusty, 3 egg, 3 cheese and 3 chicken so the meat eater just had the choice of chicken! None of the food reflected the pictures on the website and for £20 a head, we were hugely disappointed. I personally have enjoyed Afternoon Tea at many different venues, this was the very worse and would not recommend at all!
