Enjoyed our meal although I would have preferred ice cream in a dish not a cardboard cup! Waitress was friendly and helpful in spite of pressure of busy restaurant.

Always been happy here in the past but this visit was a disaster. On arrival we were sent downstairs because we had pre-booked (1st time). Staff downstairs had no knowledge of the particular “deal” we had booked (2 courses and drink for £12.99( and we were given the wrong menu. Took ages to sort this out and we still had not received our starters after 45 minutes. Had to keep reminding waiter that we were in a hurry because we had theatre tickets but to no avail. Mains arrived with minutes to spare, so we had to bolt it down. Expressed our extreme dissatisfaction and requested a discount. 25% discount was agreed but bill showed excessive overcharge, even with discount!
Left cash and ran ( literally) to theatre. No tip, I’m afraid, as undeserved. Food was okay but ruined due to speed at which we had to eat it.
Moral: don’t book. Just turn up and eat upstairs. IC.

Overall, we were made to feel like second class citizens in a poorly managed restaurant.
When we arrived for our booked table, the waiter who was sat on a chair with his elbows on the counter just grunted to us to go downstairs and find a table. Once seated, in very worn and dilapidated seats, we showed the offer to the waiter, who got the manager. The manager told us the free drink part of the offer didn’t apply to that restaurant. However, after i showed him the booking on my phone, he grudgingly agreed to a glass of house wine only. The starter was acceptable, but mains were just about passable. Roast potatoes were actually warm boiled potatoes and the creamy mushroom sauce was very watery. There was no mayo on the burger and the burger bun was toasted to a tough chewy texture.
We tried to order cheesecake from the 3 choices of dessert, but were told that the 97 cheese cakes available were pre booked by a group of 97 people! No alternative was offered apart from the remaining 2 choices.
When we went to pay by credit card, the waiter preselected the button on the machine to add a tip!

All in all, a very disappointing experience.

Restaurant was quite busy at this time but we were shown to a table immediately - it was downstairs which is always very noisy for some reason - we have been seated down there before and asked to move previously. Although noisy the service was very quick and the waiter and waitress were very attentive. The food is always quite good, although I did find my Pollo Raviouli a little on the dry side and could have had more sauce, but this is a personal thing. Desserts we always go for the mini puddings which are perfect, unfortunately not all them were available which was a shame.

Overall, a great experience. As we entered we had to wait a few minutes for our table. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and service was efficient. We all had the Wuntu (3 network) voucher offer for a £3 main. We all ordered a main - the food was tasty, although portions may have been slightly small (but not sure if this was because of the deal).

Very accommodating. Let us have our table half an hour early on NYE our waitress was absolutely brilliant. Bubbly, happy, smiley and clearly enjoyed her job.

Venue looked small at the entrance but inside and downstairs was a very large dining area. Had a round table for 6 in the corner, very important to book for Saturday lunch as the restaurant was absolutely full. All 6 had three courses and every plate/dish was left empty which is a good indicator of the quality of the food served. Friendly staff and will definitely visit again.
