we made the mistake of dining Saturday afternoon; the music was very load and and the acoustics in this restaurant is poor; it was very noisy ; Children running around, screaming etc and the staff ignored it; the service was poor and the pizza we ordered was very difficult to cut; we should have complained but as we were using Tesco club points we felt it would be a cheek; we have used the bella in Southend and always enjoyed it; we will give this one a miss in the future; I am sorry for such a bad report but you may be able to gain from it.; I never mark places we visit poor as it may have been a one off so three is the best I can do.

Good food, but service sadly lacking. Always had reasonable service before, but on this occasion, not good at all.

There was a shortage of chefs in the kitchen last night so we had to wait an amazing long time for our food which was only tepid when it arrived. The waiter did apologise for the long wait and was attentive but it has put us off returning. I have been in other Bella Italia's and not had a problem.

Awful...stood for 10 mins waiting to be seated even though we booked, ordered fairly quickly but starter didn't arrive for 45 minutes. Clearly not enough staff on shift. Admittedly the waiting staff were doing their best to cope but they shouldn't have taken bookings if there weren't enough staff. The starter was cold as it had sat for ages waiting to be served and the dip was wrong and I had to wait further. Dinner was lovely and was served much quicker. In the end we were offered another free drink and didn't pay for the starter but that having to wait for almost an hour before being fed a cold disappointing starter kind of ruined it for us.

Welcoming staff. Food very good, my spaghetti with prawns was fab and my daughters chicken lasagne was fresh and cooked well. It was my aunts 88th birthday and the staff were very warming to her. The background music could be changed to more Italian themed songs.
