Food was very mediocre and the salads in my starter were too salty. No wonder there were very few people in the restaurants. The free wine offered was horrible. The waitress was very clumsy as well. I was surprised that the restaurant managed to exist till today.

Express lunch menu - food came quickly and reasonable price. Wasn't offered a drink but they were wanting to close to prepare for New Year's Eve and the waiter was also serving his friend/colleague so was chatting to him. It did look very nice upstairs though and I'm sure normal service is more welcoming.

The dinning experience was a mixed feeling. The waitress was great and she did the service to her best ability and I cannot fault her. She did an amazing job serving us even though there were some mixed up from a different waiter like removing the plates while we were still eating. Not asking us if we still were eating our bread and just took it away and we had to request for more bread which was unnecessary if they didn’t remove the plates. This place is expensive and I should expect better quality of food. The food came out cold, very cold. I had to take my friend’s plate back to the kitchen as it was cold. This came out for the second time Cold again. Although I must said, the kitchen was kind enough to create a plate of penne pasta with meat balls that were not on the menu and I am grateful and thankful to them and the waitress for it. The restaurant was not busy so we were disappointed with the food. Everything came out cold. The view is nice but we were cold inside the restaurant. Maybe a better heating system should be reviewed. The only positive comment about the restaurant is the view and the nice waitress. Otherwise it was too expensive for what was given to us. A true disappointment.

Had been here once before for lunch and really liked the ambience of the downstairs restaurant and the food/service was good. On the strength of this I booked it for a Christmas dinner with my direct reports. Was not impressed. We were seated upstairs in a restaurant area which was almost empty and lacked any Christmas atmosphere whatsoever. The only menu choice provided was the 'fine dining menu' and any attempts to request items off the set Christmas menu (had to be pre-booked) or indeed the regular a la carte (non fine-dining) menu were rebuffed. Not wanting a fine dining experience, I asked if I and others might choose simple pasta dishes like spaghetti or lasagne and these two were denied. The actual dining experience was mixed, with some diners saying that their dishes were 'ok' but others, including myself, not so happy. No bread was provided. My pork belly was under-cooked, with an overly fatty texture which should have been rendered out. Portions were on the mean side, resembling the nouvelle cuisine approach of old. Service was generally slow, despite the low level of customers. At the end of the meal, seeking to boost our mood through more alcohol, I had the pleasure of the waiter dropping two full pints of lager over me and my phone. Fortunately I was able to rescue the phone from its apparent fate. Overall, unlikely to be returning.

I have eaten at Bella Cosa many times with friends and family and have always had a good time. The restaurant is very sophisticated with great views of Canary Wharf, it is a short walk from South Quay DLR and less than 10 minutes from Canary Wharf. The food is reliably delicious and a level above the normal Italian fare at other nearby Italian restaurants with many authentic Italian dishes (my wife is Italian so should know). There is an extensive list of Italian wines and digestifs, the staff are great and very attentive.

Nice atmosphere and pleasant and friendly staff. Most of our party enjoyed the food. I found the pasta and the vegetables a bit undercooked, but that’s a personal preference, the others liked it like that. We have been to Bella Cosa several times and everything has been very nice, but the problem on this occasion was the 2nd bottle of wine, we began to realise, was corked. The staff hadn’t brought a clean glass for testing. They has just added it to the glasses we were using so it was only after we had all started drinking it that we noticed. Disappointing they didn’t know to bring a clean glass for that purpose and rather spoiled an otherwise enjoyable evening.
