Restaurant description

Belgo Centraal in Covent Garden offers a welcoming retreat, just 2 minutes’ walk from Covent Garden Tube Station. Housed within a stylish, converted warehouse, there’s a comfortable, authentic atmosphere.

Uncomplicated yet delicious Belgian delicacies are served on the Belgo menu. Favourites include carbonade and stoemp mash, garlic and herb sausages, or there`s always the house favourite – mariniere mussels – with garlic, celery, onion, butter, white wine and cream. Belgo also offers a dedicated children's menu, as well as pre-theatre and express menus.

The Belgo restaurant drinks menu offers one of the largest selections of Belgian beers in the UK. As well as renowned beers brewed by monks within Trappist monasteries, there’s also a range of tasty fruit brews and blonde ales. The dessert menu at Belgo London offers decadent treats such as bubble waffles, speculoos cheesecake or chocolate fondue.

Within a fashionable area of London, Belgo Centraal serves hearty and flavoursome Belgian cuisine in a vibrant, informal setting.

The food was great for me but the service was very slow. We waited around half an hour for the main to arrive after the starter. Had to chase a number of waiters/waitresses. It was a first time experience for my sisters and unfortunately it left a bad taste for them. I have gone to Belgo in the past and probably will go again. Hopefully the service will be fine next time.

Had a very enjoyable evening there. Great choice of beers and food was great. Ordered the pot of moules which was huge! And delicious. Only little complaint (if that) was that though we had booked for the pre-theatre dinner offer, it wasn’t offered to us and the waiter was not interested when I asked about it. So we had the a la carte which was good so did not feel too disgruntled!

It was a bit unclear where to go when entering, we were told someone would show us to a table ddownstairs, but at the bottom of the table there was just some one doing something on some trays ignoring us. We told tan what we were told and only then they directed us to the right where we did find someone to show us to the table

Table for 2 at 6.30pm on a Tuesday. Friendly welcome at upstairs reception, a few minutes wait before being allowed down to the Restaurant. Only way down is by stairs, not easy for all. Restaurant was almost full, atmosphere was buzzing and full of laughter and chatter. Server was pleasant, friendly and polite. Drinks order taken and served promptly and food order taken. Food was well cooked, well presented and delicious. Good selection of Beers and Cocktails. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

Brilliant all round! Very cool (huge!) restaurant underground, with a good atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and made it a relaxing evening despite us needing to eat fairly quickly to head to a show, which was great. We had the bookatable £20 3 course deal which had a great selection on it. Of course the moules were delicious! We'll definitely be coming back :)
