My wife booked us a reservation for the Saturday 8 July 2017 for 2 people at 18:30 to celebrate my 31st birthday and also starting a new job the upcoming Monday. It had also been on her list of restuarants to visit so it added to the exicitment we felt for that evening.Upon arrival we were seen to by reception and then led down to the 'caves' of the restuarant. It was really dark and we could hear the shouting from the kitchen. Not particularly a great ambiance but we didn't let it hinder our enjoyment.Drinks and food arrived within reasonable time.Only complaint here is that my wifes meal of Mushroom risotto was burning hot that she had to wait before trying it again by which point I had already half way finished with my own dish.Still feeling quite celebratory, I thought I'd indulge ourselves with dessert to share between ourselves.I ordered Apple pie with custard. The cutlery arrived first and we noticed that it still had some red food residue on it, so we asked for a cleaner one. Then dessert arrived and the size was quite large with custard in a small container to pour ourselves. As I poured the custard onto the pie, my Wife noticed black bits coming out also.At first, she thought that it was from vanilla pods that they may have used but ntoiced that it wasn't consistant. She went to examine the pot further and pulled out one bit, then looked into the apple pie dish and on the spoon was another part.Keep in mind that this was in the very dimly lit "caves"of the restuarant, she put them under the table light and it was then very, very apparent that the two parts were the body(husk and legs) of a cockcroach and its head!!!We were shocked, disgusted and upset as you can imagine! We told our waiter who although apologised and seemed shocked that it was there, didnt seem suprised either. Which make me think that management must know of this problem. He called the manager, who apologised and said that our meal was of complimentary&said he'd contact us(He didn't).

I can say that this restaurant looks amazing, but that is as far as I will go. We had a booking for Saturday night and we did turn up for this 10 minutes late which was on us. We then got to reception and waited for the front of house to come and serve us. It was very busy so the man in charge of the front of house took a further 10 minutes to come and deal with us, once he did we informed him of the fact that we had been late but had arrived only 10 mins late not the 20 mins late it was now. For some reason this member of staff misinterpreted what was said and took offence to it, his demeanour changed and he became very rude. He quickly informed us that we had a bad attitude and would not be eating there even after we tried to eat humble pie and apologised for any offence we caused him. I hold my hands up for being late that was certainly on us but any misunderstanding should have been quickly resolved and not have led to a member of staff being genuinely rude. Worst dining experience I've ever had.
