Had a truly fabulous meal here with my daughter both choosing fillet steak for the main course. Cooked to perfection! Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and excellent service.

Slightly disappointed with the special Mandela menu. Spicy chicken livers were good.

We grabbed dinner here before seeing Wicked. We loved our meal, and the excellent service. Our friend thought it was the best caesar salad she had ever had. We especially enjoyed the comfortable dining chairs.

Everything about this place is tourist average. Can’t imagine how it got rave reviews. Fake news perhaps. The place was distinctly average, except for the grilled plaice which was delightful.

Overall it just felt average. The service was slow and rude and the food was just fine.

Excellent food with a really good range of gluten free options. The manager came over and talked through the whole menu what could be offered as a gluten free option

The bobotie spring rolls were absolutely scrumptious!

Proximity to Victoria Palace theater was a big plus. Pre-theater menu was just adequate and food unremarkable. Bar setting was too noisy. Not a good value for money

This was my third visit to bbar. The food, wine and service were good, but the prices were outrageous. A light lunch for three cost £114. Also the restaurant was noisy, especially with the street doors open, making conversation difficult. A further point is that the arm chairs are too low for the table height in the middle part of the room. Compare this with any Cote outlet, where the same meal and service would have cost £70-80. One good point: the cheapest South African white wine on the list was Blanc De Mer at £30. This was very nice and certainly value for money.
