Enjoy AA Rosette-awarded dining at Bartley Lodge Hotel, a secluded woodland hideaway in the New Forest. Refined British cuisine is served in the hotel’s sophisticated Crystal Restaurant.
Signature dishes on the Bartley Lodge menu range from a cod brandade, with spiced puy lentils and cauliflower beignets, to a contemporary twist on the British ham hock, served with pea puree and herb-crusted hen’s egg. Traditional British mains like ale-battered fish and chips and honey-glazed ham can be followed by a warm poached pear with mulled-wine sorbet, whilst cheeses are a proud local selection featuring an exciting garlic and nettle option.
A former library, the elegant Bartley Lodge restaurant in Lyndhurst welcomes diners with toasty open fires in winter and open French doors in summer, which lead out into the hotel’s beautiful gardens. Breakfast can be taken in style with the addition of a glass of chilled champagne.
A tranquil woodland retreat, Bartley Lodge Hotel is a 6-minute drive from Lyndhurst, and 3 minutes from the M27.

The location is very nice. The staff were also nice but service was slow and the food below average.

Booked a table for 2. We were a bit surprised there was a company conference having a buffet in the restaurant. Food was nice but expensive for what it was. I had sea bass, slightly oily as a dish and a tiny portion for £18.
Conference aside the hotel ambience was nice, quiet, country stye - on the right day this could a good place to have a quiet lunch.
I pass this hotel all the time traveling between the M27 and Lymington and had been keen to try it but wouldn't rush back on the basis of experience this week.

Lovely ambience to this restaurant with its wooden floors, beautifully laid tables and architecture. Attentive staff and timely service. Variety of menu entrancing. Prawn starter was light but delicious with super flavours. Hake fillet main melted in the mouth and the seasonal veg was colourful and a real enhancement to the dish. A digestive small rest was then applied, while we enjoyed the glass of excellent wine, before a light dessert to sweeten the end of the evening. We retired to the comfortable sofa by the fire for coffee and reflected how lovely the dining experience had been. Great job Bartley Lodge - thank you.

First time visiting this country house hotel for dinner and we were very impressed. The food quality was excellent and, though the service team were young and clearly not very experienced, they did a great job with a ready smile and good interaction. The dining room is very big and when we were there, a rainy evening in February, there were only about 14 diners, including our group of three. As a result, it was lacking a little in atmosphere. This would be helped by the addition of some floral displays and maybe some paintings on the walls, which were a little bare. Apart from that minor observation, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Lovely family meal in lovely surroundings. The service and food were both excellent. A lovely restaurant where you could actually hold a conversation whilst enjoying the food. The only slight quibble was the size of the cheese and biscuit portion for two people, it was on the small side with only two crackers each, so we had to ask for me.
Wouldn’t hesitate to come back, well done all at the Bartley Lodge!

We had sunday lunch in this pleasant hotel. Although it was December the grounds were lovely. Possible to sit outside in better weather. Pleasant staff - reasonable food. Good allround experie3nce - Do not expect a "glitzy service" just good old fashioned.
