The food was as expected authentically Spanish, and exceeded expectations in a city with hundreds of so-called Tapas Bars. As on this occasion we had a pre-theatre visit, it definitely requires a more longer visit next time. Bravo!

Busy and crowded ambience but good and friendly service nevertheless. A little cramped at the table. Good range of tapas with the braised ox cheeks with PX and mushrooms being a highlight. Also some delicious desserts. Excellent range of wines and sherries, although the oloroso was served a little too chilled for my taste.

Welcome and Service were excellent . Service had some nice knowledgeable touches e.g in explaining the original origins of the Torrija pudding in the everyday cooking.Food was delicious was delicious with a good mix of meat, seafood and vegetable dishes. The Jerusalem Artichoke dish was unusual and tasty for example. The chipirones and prawns were also very good but for us on day was the best was the Oxcheek long slow cooked in Pedro Ximenez sweet sherry with some melted cheese on top. Knockout. We shared 2 pudddings cheescake and Tottija both tasy and generous.
We were 4 people for lunch some of the tapas come in portions of 3 pieces ( eg the chipirones ) clearly says so on the menu so you either have to fight over them or order another one!
Wne list had lots of well chosen iinteresting bottles. . We chose the Monastrell Almuvedre ( Monastrell is Spanish for Mouvedre grape ) from Alicante , wWne maker Telmo Rodriguez. Really delicious.

Really tasty. Server was new and slow. They had run out of most of their specials at 8pm, which was quite disappointing.
