Winning an AA Dinner Award in 2015 and sporting an inviting hunting lodge-style interior, the Barley Mow is a rustic British pub in a rural setting. The best in British produce is showcased, along with a great beer and ale selection.

The Barley Mow menu is led by its grill selection – Lancashire grass fed beef is offered alongside local lamb and pork, all cooked on a robata grill. Along with traditional British flavours, there are also exciting international tweaks like piri piri chicken, prawn and chorizo skewers with paprika potatoes, guacamole and charred corn, as well as house signatures like a weekly Mow pie made with seasonal ingredients.

As well as a dedicated kids' menu at the Barley Mow Lancashire, there are indulgent desserts like caramel chocolate pot with salted peanut praline, and homemade apple crumble. A full wine list is also served.

Offering rustic British comfort, the Barley Mow is a 21-minute drive from Burnley Rail Station.

Service from getting menus to being told specials was poor. In fact we had to go and ask for service. It was as if we were seated and message had not been passed on we were there. Otherwise service and food etc was excellent.

We had been sent the snkw20% voucher which was a nice bonus as we were already booked in. However our total food order was £55 plus and we only received a discount if £6. Even if discount was just in main meals I had steak st £21.50 plus sauce and my husband the fish special at £21 so discount still wrong. Please explain this .

Me and my husband spent the night at Barley Mow and couldnt fault it, friendly staff, warm atmosphere and fantastic food. we ate at lunchtime just after we arrived, the nachos with spicy sausage were delish. we then ate in the evening which again was beautiful. the ham hock starter was wonderful and my husband throughly enjoyed his steamed syrup sponge with 'real' custard so much so that the next day we stayed for lunch before returning home and he had the syrup sponge again. Breakfast was also very good with good quality bacon and sausage. we would definately return.

I chose the Barley Mow for mine and my husbands valentine meal on Friday 12th February as the venue holds long and precious family memories for us, and knowing the place was under new management and had undergone a total refurbishment we were of course curious. From the moment we stepped through the usual front entrance we were warmly welcomed by Jonny the manager and directed to our table by our friendly and polite waiter Craig where he updated us on the transformation of each area as we tried to recollect where as a family we used to meet and greet then dine to our hearts were content. After a while deciding which food to choose (because of the vast choice) we opted for the valentine menu which can i say from my husbands first local brewed beer, to the cocktails, the starters, the mains and not forgetting the amazing for two shared desert (of course) it was truly OUT OF THIS WORLD credit to the chiefs. Craig collected two bar stools in the bar area where we relaxed with our Irish coffee and boozy hot chocolate in front of a lovely log burning fire uuuummmm let the weekend begin. We've spread the word to our family members and are returning for the live band Friday can't wait

Lovely premises, nice atmosphere, good quality food if a little pricey for what you get.
