Restaurant description

Sister restaurant of the celebrated New York outpost, Bar Boulud is a French bistro and wine bar set within the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park. Serving classic bistro dishes alongside American favourites, the restaurant has been under the direction of Michelin-starred chef, Daniel Boulud, since opening in 2010.

As well as featuring signature homemade charcuterie and burgers, the Bar Boulud menu showcases ever-changing seasonal dishes from Executive Chef, John Barber. Creations might include the infamous French Poule au Pot (poached corn-fed chicken breast & legs with root vegetables & spinach), or citrus-glazed duck breast, warm quinoa salad, turnips & sauce Bigarade. . The wine list at Bar Boulud in London centres around the Burgundy and Rhône Valley regions, with 30 bins available by the glass.

An interior from Adam Tihany is inspired by the culture of the French winemaking regions. Catch glimpses of cork, oak and red leather, plus rustic chandeliers designed to resemble deconstructed wine barrels. As well as the impressive wine cellar at Bar Boulud in Knightsbridge, Bar Boulud features 2 private dining rooms for up to 24 each or 40 when combined.

A diverse, bustling venue, guests can head to the lounge dining room with its zinc-topped lounge bar, or the second room, with its open-plan kitchen and charcuterie counter. Find Bar Boulud across the road from Knightsbridge Tube Station.

A lovely , more casual setting. The set menu was very good with the desserts coming from the a la carte menu. The manhoods soufflé with coconut ice cream was fabulous. However, there’s a very long walk to the ladies loo which is in the main hotel. There seemed to be a problem in the cloakroom when we attempted to retrieve our coats, a long queue developed because they’d lost someones coat! Overall we really enjoyed Bar Boulud and would hope again,

We arrived and ordered 4 aperol spritz which were delicious. We had booked for 3 courses with a glass of fizz and it was all served beautifully and was truly delicious. The staff were professional and friendly and the lady who took our coats was extremely kind and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend. A memorable lunch for all the right reasons.

As usual, a fine evening, impeccable service, great food, prefect decor for a busy but elegant Friday dinner with friends. Can’t beat the location either. Only suggestion: bring back The Frenchie! One of the best burgers ANYWHERE.

The three course menu with coffee and tea plus a glass of cremant de loire (method champenoise) is a bargain in a cavernous lower ground space with tables well spaced excellent friendly service and cosy ambiance is a fantastic deal in an iconic central london hotel The menu is consistently excellent with the bonus of a choice of dessert from a la carte menu which always includes a soufflé always done to perfection The currant menu has a charcuterie,a specialty, as a starter, salmon moist and flavoursome 'aldente'as a main and wow a chestnut soufflé with pumpkin ice cream To cap it off you can have this menu directly until 1830 hrs or later through book a table - ideal fir late lunch or early evening meal
