Mini Bao provided a nice overview of the selection. Combined with a couple of sharing dishes it was a nice lunch.

Serving up their famed steamed buns, Bao Fitzrovia follows the success of the critically acclaimed Soho branch. Authentic Taiwanese recipes are served in chic, minimalist surrounds.

Led by the namesake steamed bun, the BAO menu also features a range of sharing snacks and rice bowls. Signature bao fillings include confit pork, cod black and beef short rib, whilst beef cheek nuggets, prawn tartare and mushroom broth with duck breast are amongst the flavour-packed snacks.

Upstairs at Bao London, the laidback dining space is centred around a stool-lined wooden counter, whilst seating downstairs looks onto the open kitchen. Downstairs at Bao is also available as a private area for up to 20 guests.

Find Bao restaurant a short walk from both Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road Tube stations.

All the food was delicious - especially the bao buns and the chicken chop. Service and atmosphere was great, however the plates probably came out too many at a time. Understandably this means higher turnover for the restaurant, but for a dinner out it can seem rushed and put pressure on diners to leave quickly - especially when you'd be keen to order a few more drinks.

This was my first time at the fitzrovia branch and I think I actually much prefer it to the soho one personally. The fact you can book a table is great, staff are really friendly and helpful. Lovely fresh atmosphere upstairs. I had the black cod bao which was amazing, and my friend had the classic and confit pork which were apparently super tasty too - he even went for a second confit one. I also had the aubergine rice which was tasty, despite being a teeny bit spicy for me (but I'm a whimp!). My only couple of gripes would be that the portions aren't massive (but for a fiver I guess you probably can't complain too much!) and I wasn't blown away by their cocktail list. The Pinot Gris I had was pretty nice though I have to say.
    Overall, would highly recommend!
