Have been many times to Banners and this visit was on a Saturday afternoon. My mum had afternoon tea which in her words was “excellent” and I had a club sandwich with fries which was very good. Relaxed atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though Mum had about four pots of tea in total! She couldn’t eat all of the desserts and she was given a box to take some home with her. Afternoon tea is £16 which is about the going rate.

My husband and I had the lovelyest Sunday lunch you could want to have. We had the 3 meat plate with roast pots and fresh veg which kept us happy until Monday morning. Great quality, great service clean and friendly. I would defiantly recommend. They are not licensed so if you like a drink, take a bottle or there is a co op a 2 min walk away. This was all totally acceptable to take your own booze. Thank you to ALL staff at Banners.

A pleasant cosy little restaurant. This was the first time I'd been and the veggie beanburger with chunky chips was very good. So was the coffee. My meat-eating friend said that her chicken and salad was lovely. I wish I'd had room for one of the huge scones filled with fresh cream and jam. A bigger vegetarian selection would have been nice. But my only real negative was that my meal was served on a rectangular wooden board with some kind of paper coaster on it, which I didn't see the point of. If I'd known I'd have asked if it could be on a plate. I will go again.
