A Brighton institution since 2001, Bankers serves up award-winning fish and chips with all the trimmings. Housed in an attractive Victorian building, this comfy setting for this classic British dish uses sustainably sourced fish, recycles its used oil into biodiesel, and always offers a warm, seaside welcome.
The celebrated fish and chips on the Bankers menu is cooked in a secret recipe batter, with options like cod, haddock, plaice and swordfish. All the fish can be cooked in breadcrumbs, matzo, or even grilled or poached on request, and there are tempting platters to share as well, with mouthwatering scampi and calamari. Alongside the fish selection, there is spit-roasted chicken, freshly baked pies, and jumbo sausages too. Vegetarian options are also available, as well as special menus just for kids.
Sumptuous desserts at Bankers in Hove are a perfect way to finish up. Traditional treats include treacle or jam sponge puddings, chocolate fudge cake, and banana fritters with ice cream. A selection of international beers are served alongside wines and bubbles, with soft drinks and milkshakes for the kids.
A great example of traditional fish and chips at the seaside, Bankers is a stone's throw from the seafront, and 5 minutes' drive from Brighton Rail Station.

Bankers was recommended to me as serving the best Fish&Chips in Brighton. My experience: good food, lots of choices too. Staff very nice and considerate. The reastaurant has no flair, though. Big room, all white. Stinking from the open kitchen which seemed to have no ventilation. I recommend as take—away rather than staying an evening with a date.

Good location and very polite service. Many options for fish and chips and all quality for a good price.
