Recommended by the Guardian, Bangkok Café summons excellent Thai cuisine to Cardiff through a perfected blend of Thai herbs and spices. Complete with a chic bar area, Bangkok Thai restaurant also flaunts an electrifying décor.
Boasting locally sourced ingredients, the Bangkok Café menu includes a delicious fillet of lightly battered trout, cooked in a red curry paste, as well as mouth-watering Welsh lamb cutlets marinated in Thai herbs and spices with a piquant sauce. A selection of popular Thai curries includes the spicy roast duck red curry, along with a mild golden pumpkin and white radish curry with a cucumber relish and vegetable tempura. The Bangkok Café noodles, with prawns, squid, pak choi, baby corn, spring onions and a hint of curry, are also a flavourful favourite.
Boasting bold green and red leather booth seats, Bangkok restaurant complements these with glossy black furnishings. Adopting a sleek mirrored wall and mood lighting, Bangkok Café Thai restaurant in in Cardiff creates a cosmopolitan vibe.
On Cardiff’s Cowbridge Road East, Bangkok Café in South Wales is a 12-minute walk from Ninian Park Rail Station. Cardiff Central Rail Station is a 6-minute drive away.

Service brilliant with lots of honest attention to ensuring my vegan food was right.
Delicious food. Prompt service.
The only negative was both our meals cothd have don with less salt. That's the only reason I give it 4 stars, otherwise it would be 5! Next time we'll ask to have less.

Meals were good value for money and tasted lovely, but found the drinks a bit expensive. Service and decor first class. As I wear two hearing aids I would have prefered quieter back ground music as background music and noises are amplified making it difficult to hear the table conversation.

Bit too much batter on some items. Beer overpriced for size of bottle - was expecting 500ml. Got one order wrong but quickly rectified so no problem. Nice flavours in main dish I had though.

The food and service was great. We had the calamari and satay as a starter and then number 27 the spicy duck with red curry. The flavours were fantastic and enjoyable.
We had a lovely time!
Price was reasonable. I would recommend the restaurant to friends and family for sure as I have been many times before and standard has always been the same!

Always love coming here, worth booking for a Saturday night as always busy. Food excellent, particularly the Thai green curry and the Bangkok cafe noodles. Will be coming back soon
