A family-run restaurant close to the popular Sauchiehall Street shopping street in Glasgow, Banana Leaf serves a mouthwatering selection of authentic Malaysian Chinese recipes in an intimate setting of dark woods and floral wallpapers.
Recipes passed down through generations are made with the freshest ingredients on the Banana Leaf menu. A selection of starters make perfect sharers, such as fried squid rings with chilli mayonnaise, and salt and chilli tofu cube with peppers and onions. Aromatic soups include one made with fresh prawns and chicken dumplings, while hot and spicy additions can be found in recipes like the beef brisket with curry sauce. There are specialities like venison served on a sizzling plate, and flavoursome rice and noodle creations also. The vegetarian and gluten-free options on offer make it a truly versatile menu.
Traditional desserts are served at Banana Leaf Glasgow, and include banana fritters with sweet syrup, and pandan pancakes with set custard. There is a concise wine list, and a selection of unique cocktails.
Offering diners a great selection of Malaysian flavours, all in a stylish setting, Banana Leaf is 12 minutes' walk from Charing Cross Rail Station.

Food and service was great. I had the wonton starter and nasi goreng. Couple of things let it down slightly for me the curry sauce with starter was cold and the Nasi Goreng had very little chicken which was quite chewy. Apart from that no complaints as staff were very friendly and great lunch time price
