Nestled in a cosy terraced-house setting in a pretty Manchester suburb, Aumbry presents a fine dining twist on classic British flavours. Enjoying praise from various publications, the esteemed Harden’s guide describes the cuisine as ‘marvellous’.

Moving through the seasons, the Aumbry menu offers a wonderfully creative selection. Artfully presented dishes include Bury black pudding Scotch egg with homemade ketchup and mushroom relish, or loin of wild hare with swede and wheatgrass. For something adventurous and sweet, sample beetroot and chocolate cakes with bee pollen, or grapefruit posset with sherbet.

Crafted with the utmost care and attention, the Aumbry restaurant wine list compiles a diverse range from across the world’s finest wine regions, as well as some superb vintages. A luxurious tasting menu also comes with bespoke wine pairings.

Set in a homely yet intimate setting, idyllic Aumbry Prestwich offers a partially open kitchen for a view of the chefs. Central Manchester is 11 minutes’ drive away.

I went with a friend for lunch. He doesn't do cheap!! He was amazed [...], the quality, the knowledge of the staff on each and every dish! And I was just the same. A lovely pleasant experience. Thank you. Any mystery shopper would have given 11 out of 10.

We had the five-course taster meal which was superb in every respect. The unusual combinations of food, variety of textures and colours were all excellently presented. The portions were suitably dinky, the staff very attentive and friendly and the surroundings were homely yet intimate. We will be back!
