Restaurant description

An elegant French bistro and patisserie, Aubaine High Street Kensington is a bright, chic venue to enjoy sophisticated all-day dining. Fresh flowers and interior trees give the space a homely feel, with al fresco seating on the pavement making an ideal people-watching spot.

The Aubaine menu covers all-day dining, and is bursting with French specialities. For breakfast and brunch, there are freshly-made pastries, exotic fruit cocktails, and light bites such as croque monsieur. Seasonal soup of the day sits alongside superfood salads and beef carpaccio with truffle vinaigrette, while classic French favourites include mussels with white wine, parsley and crisp fries. Sharing plates include the charcuterie board, and a baked whole Camembert with crushed walnuts and truffle oil.

Champagne, carefully selected world wines and classic cocktails can be found on the drinks menu at Aubaine in Kensington. Sweet treats from the patisserie make perfect desserts, with the selection changing all the time.

Perfect for everything from relaxed lunches to intimate evening drinks, Aubaine High Street Kensington is moments from Kensington Gardens, and just 12 minutes' walk from the Royal Albert Hall.

Aubaine Kensington is set back from the bustle of the high street and is available for exclusive hire for up to 80 guests as well as for smaller parties.

Ambience and service very good. Food was only average though considering the prices and both our main courses were cold.

Ideal location for Royal Albert Hall pre-concert meal. Friendly, courteous staff and not ridiculously expensive.

Food nice, service very slow. Served warm white wine. Didn’t know the wine list. Restaurant almost empty but service so slow.

The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully and had a really great atmosphere. We had an amazing Caesar Salad which was a good size although on the pricier side of things. The staff were friendly seemed slightly reluctant to approach us and were slow to take our order.

Lovely convenient restaurant setting where the staff were quite friendly. Food bordering on poor. Pea Risotto was a stingy portion of cooked rice post mixed with pre made sauce. Sea Bass barely cooked. Caesar salad very greasy with soggy croutons. White wine served at room temperature with no wine cooler / we ended up with ice cubes in our glasses trying to chill it. Overall not a great experience.

It was an average dining experience- my calamari starter was too spicy and over fried The Caesar salad was ok. I asked the waiter where the anchovies were- he said it was in the dressing so at best it was anchovy paste!

Positive: Friendly, attentive service. Negative: Disappointing range of options for vegan diners. The prix fixe lunch menu had no vegan starter or dessert, and an unexciting pasta with tomato sauce for the main course. From the a la carte menu, I had the option of a superfood salad or a vegetable tartine. I had the tartine (1 slice of bread!) with chips. Not enough for lunch. Until the chef introduces more vegan options (including desserts), I wouldn't dine here again.

Visited twice in one day! Went for Brunch before visiting Kensington Palace to see Diana's Dresses. Superb avocado on toast with tomato's & poached eggs with a side order of their lovely crispy bacon, coffee & oranage juice. Lovely setting and helpful staff. Went back after our visit as I had a voucher for a free bottle of Prosecco which was lovely - we also chose 3 sharing plates - prawns in harissa, calamari (best I had) and duck liver parfait, along with a lovely selection of their bread - great day with fantastic food too.
