The food was gorgeous and the staff friendly and not overly attentive, nothing worse than being asked if everything is ok when you have a mouth full of food.

Menu was quite limited and in inventive. The waiter new very little about serving wine. Firstly he asked if I wished to taste the wine before he poured it. I consider this mandatory. He then proceeded to replace the cap after pouring out two glasses, not understanding that red wine needs to breathe.

Oh what a crescendo of disappointment. Arrived on restaurant no staff present went around calling out, 2 tables had been preset - I think the night before unfortunately the one we sat at had crumbs we moved to the other. The coffee and tea once served was cold- cups where ice cold too. Alerted waiter to the drinks no apology was offered and all he did was top them up with hot water which he managed to spill on the table again no apology was offered just walked away and came and wiped it off with a cloth. The preset table was small for everything that was served. The food - sandwiches where not freshly made - bread dry and filling no moisture. Rock bun must have been in stonhenge for the day couldn't risk my teeth. The service was non existent and could not wait to get out - what a birthday treat that was !!! I would not recommend at all for anything

We all enjoyed the afternoon tea at The Bath Hilton, really good selection of sandwiches and cakes and plenty of tea and the staff were very friendly and very helpful.

Smart and presentable dining rooms. Lovely presentation of mothers day afternoon tea and experience. Lovely views from Windows.

My husband & I had Saturday afternoon tea here as a gift from Christmas. We arrived ahead of our booked time but was seated promptly, a nice table for two, with a view of the river and Putney Bridge. I must admit that I found the arrival of our sandwiches and cakes deceptive. It was beautifully presented but I was sure that the amount would leave us wanting more. The amount was perfect and we left very content. We found all cakes & sandwiches to be fresh and tasty.
Don't let the exterior of the hotel put you off, the interior is nice and the restaurant seemed well managed. I would go again.
