Awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its excellent cuisine, Asquiths is a contemporary British restaurant in Cornwall. Its marriage of exquisitely presented food with elegant and understated design was enough to see the restaurant receive the silver award in the Cornwall Tourism Awards’ Restaurant of the Year 2012.

The select, refined Asquiths menu begins with delicate options like chicken and black pudding terrine with charred leek and mushroom vinaigrette, moving onto sumptuous mains like Boccadon Farm veal rump with slow-cooked beef shin, mushroom steamed pudding, braised puy lentils, celeriac cream and curly kale. Delectable desserts include a blood orange and chocolate verrine with thyme shortbread crumb and crème fraiche ice cream.

White tablecloths and rustic exposed Cornish brickwork in the Asquiths restaurant in Cornwall keep company with a bespoke handmade mirror from an artisanal glass maker based in nearby Launceston. Artwork from a local artist graces the monochrome walls, contributing to a relaxed, unassuming dining ambience.

Asquiths is a 3-minute walk over the River Fowey from Lostwithiel Station.

One of the best meals I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Could not fault it in any way.

Great local restaurant - food is fabulous with an interesting, good value wine list. Service not exactly attentive but then occasionally intrusive (I don’t want to be asked if everything’s OK during each course!) but food is fab.

We had an excellent evening out here for my husband’s 65th birthday, with 8 friends. The food is always excellent using unusual flavours at times eg miso with chocolate and kimchi with crab. The services is really professional and communication is efficient to, there was quite a bit of liaising to organise the surprise with quite a few people contributing.

Second visit here and arrived hungry so I could enjoy three courses. Welcome from front of house lovely, service prompt and everything explained on request. Food delicious, beautifully presented and outshone many a restaurant with much higher guide accolades.
Local produce presented with skill and imagination. All yummy and quantities generous. Prices very reasonable and make it a venue for midweek treat as opposed to only for a big celebration meal.
I will be visiting again soon.

Very relaxed restaurant with Staff very much in attendance. We had a three course meal which was excellent. Certainly the best Steak I have had for a long time.Small restaurant and I would book to guarantee a table.Well worth a visit !

It was a quiet midweek night and the restaurant ambience was very pleasant. The waiting staff were young and friendly, if a little rough around the edges (e.g. our waiter had to ask about a suitable wine). The food was of good quality - and quite imaginative as well. The bread and butter were very tasty (though the snacks were not interesting). For starters we had crab and ginger spring rolls; and fritters of medita and cous cous (rather like arancetti). The main courses were pork fillet and veal. The desserts were a lemon cream with raspberry sorbet and strawberries with Earl Gray ice cream and Pimms jelly.
