Awarded 2 AA Rosettes for its excellent cuisine, Asquiths is a contemporary British restaurant in Cornwall. Its marriage of exquisitely presented food with elegant and understated design was enough to see the restaurant receive the silver award in the Cornwall Tourism Awards’ Restaurant of the Year 2012.

The select, refined Asquiths menu begins with delicate options like chicken and black pudding terrine with charred leek and mushroom vinaigrette, moving onto sumptuous mains like Boccadon Farm veal rump with slow-cooked beef shin, mushroom steamed pudding, braised puy lentils, celeriac cream and curly kale. Delectable desserts include a blood orange and chocolate verrine with thyme shortbread crumb and crème fraiche ice cream.

White tablecloths and rustic exposed Cornish brickwork in the Asquiths restaurant in Cornwall keep company with a bespoke handmade mirror from an artisanal glass maker based in nearby Launceston. Artwork from a local artist graces the monochrome walls, contributing to a relaxed, unassuming dining ambience.

Asquiths is a 3-minute walk over the River Fowey from Lostwithiel Station.

My wife and we have eaten at many top restaurants around the uk and though Asquiths was very quiet when we visited, the food was exceptional, we both had starters, which were very tasty, as for the mains, my wife had the lamb and I had the pigeon both of which were cooked to perfection, the decor of the restaurant was tastefully done and produced a very relaxed atmosphere, though we would have preferred it to be a little busier,

We had a quite pleasant meal at Asquiths, the staff was friendly and attentive but the food didn't meet our expectations. The starter was overpriced for what it was, a rather heavily battered courgette flower on a bed of tomatoes salad and the Halibut was slightly overcooked and swimming in quite a strong fishy prawn sauce that overpowered the hard to find vegetables and mash underneath it all. It all lacked a bit of imagination in the presentation but the little extras like freshly baked bread and truffles with the coffee were lovely.
We felt the meal was ok but overpriced for the quality overall.

Decided to have my 50th birthday meal at Asquiths, with close family.
We were looked after from the moment we arrived in the restaurant to the moment we left. Really enjoyed my special day and Asquiths were a major part of it.
    Thank you.

Regular diners here never disappointed by the level of service and quality of food. Could select anything from the menu and be delighted with the delicious preparation and cooking of the ingredients. Nice relaxed setting, no rush to finish your meal. A real gem.

Dessert was the rice pudding fritters also very nice, my son had the earl grey pannacotta which was the best one I have ever tasted, the restaurant was comfortable with nice attentive service the toilets could do with modernising, not a reason to stay away, 5 ?? would definitely return
