A good value Italian restaurant in the heart of this historic town, ASK Italian Wetherby is right on the market place and surrounded by a range of unique shops.
Inspired by the Italian way of eating, ASK Italian celebrates mealtimes as an opportunity to connect with one another around the table. Start with a perfect-for-sharing antipasti board from the ASK Italian menu, and enjoy signature dishes from fresh pasta to crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings. And because there’s always room for dessert, diners can indulge in a selection of beautiful desserts including the chocolate Etna, served with plenty of theatre.
ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices, with allergen information on hand if ever you need it, plus a fun kids menu. Premium beers, including Sicily’s most famous craft beer, Messina Bira, are available alongside Italian wines, cocktails and soft drinks, like a refreshing craft lemonade.
Set on the main road through the town, Wetherby ASK Italian is just a 5-minute drive from the Wetherby racecourse and a short walk from the river.

The restaurant was very busy as it was New Year's eve, I think extra tables had been added as space was at a premium. Despite this the staff were efficient and pleasant, the food arrived hot and was delicious. Although we had not asked to move table, when a table with more room became available the manager asked us if we would like it, which was a very thoughtful of her. The staff work so hard speedily taking and delivering orders but the atmosphere is calm and welcoming which I think must be down to the manager as she definitely leads from the front. Its a great place to eat.

Service was slow and terrible, all staff walking around and acting like they couldn't be bothered, I had to get up and go to the bar for More drinks. Aside from this, I had the pork belly that was literally a lump of goo/fat, and I found a hair in my potatoes so did not eat even a quarter of my meal, and no one asked if it was alright or anything and being a manager of an Italian restaurant my self if the staff a) didn't do a check back & b) didn't double check everything was okay if someone had not eaten, I'd be having a word with them to make sure they are fully trained. My partners chicken was also very chewy and pink. Antipasti platter was yummy, just small so it's a shame the rest wasn't great.

Bruschetta toast was very dry and crunchy but the tomatoes and basil on top were nice and tasty. Mushroom pasta dish was lovely and quite filling. Ice creams were tasty. Service was good even though the restaurant was busy.

We really like this Ask restaurant. In a good position. Lots of free on street parking. Staff are friendly, attentive but not pushy. The restaurant is spacious and has a choice of table sizes plus booths and larger family sized areas. There's a nice 'buzzy' atmosphere too. The menu is varied and should cover most people's needs. There's usually at least a couple of new items on the menu whenever we visit. I love the butterfly prawns as a starter and their sharing platters are very good too. I had the brisket beef bolognese last night. Very tasty. Hubby had a salami based Calazone which he liked. We had a Chianti with it. Not as powerful as we'd have liked but very drinkable and good value. We both had one of the new desserts...very nice. An espresso and Americano round off the meal. We'll be back again soon !
