Restaurant description

In a chic, colourful setting, ASK Italian Glasgow Port Dundas Place offers a great selection of flavoursome Mediterranean dishes, blending traditional recipes with innovative twists.

Inspired by the Italian way of eating, ASK Italian celebrates mealtimes as an opportunity to connect with one another around the table. Start with a perfect-for-sharing antipasti board from the ASK Italian menu, and enjoy signature dishes from fresh pasta to crispy stone-baked pizzas with a great choice of toppings. And because there's always room for dessert, diners can indulge in a selection of beautiful desserts including the chocolate Etna, served with plenty of theatre.

ASK Italian restaurants showcase Italian cuisine at affordable prices, with allergen information on hand if ever you need it, plus a fun kids menu. Premium beers, including Sicily's most famous craft beer, Messina Bira, are available alongside Italian wines, cocktails and soft drinks, like a refreshing craft lemonade.

ASK Italian Glasgow Port Dundas Place sits in the city centre, a stone’s throw from Glasgow Caledonian University, and 8 minutes’ walk from Glasgow Queen Street Rail Station.

Went on their first day back after the COVID lockdown with my girlfriend and we both loved the food. We both had pizzas (the size of the pizzas was VERY generous for the prices) and the garlic/cheese chips on the side were delicious. Their “Strawberry Soft Spritz” was very nice as well. I would highly recommend the restaurant for the price as well as the location being a 2-minute walk from Buchanan Galleries. Their customer service was also great.

Food was a little different from your average Italian chain restaurant and probably better. Our server was nice and drinks and starters arrived quickly. Sadly our mains took so long to arrive we didn’t have time to try the desserts. Our server did apologise twice but still not really good enough.

A warm welcome awaited us on a cold, wet Glasgow evening. Our table was ready and we were attentively looked after. One wee complaint was that we were served by at least three different people- all very attentive but it did not help to build up continuity of service. A glass of lemon juice cleanser our palates and it was quickly followed by a glass of prosecco (which might have been a bit colder!) The food was good - and excellent stuffed mushroom starter with garlic butter followed for me with a very tasty penne with chicken and mushrooms cream My wife's pasta dish could have done with more garlic, she said. Service was prompt and efficient and the atmosphere was good - the place being packed with animated diners. No music was played - a blessing - especially at Christmas time when some restaurants play an incessant chorus of seasonal songs! Our house merlot was very acceptable- as were our desserts. At three good sized courses for £19-95 we thought it good value for money.
