Basking in an enviable location on the magnificent Ashdown Park estate, the Anderida Restaurant offers refined gourmet dining in East Sussex. Holder of 2 AA Rosettes, the Anderida brings imaginative touches to exquisitely presented dishes, served in the grand dining room or al fresco in Ashdown Park Hotel’s stunning grounds.

The seasonal Anderida menu is complemented by a comprehensive AA Notable Wine List, exhibiting the best European and New World vintages and award-winning champagne. The Anderida Sommeliers will advise the perfect accompaniment to locally sourced Lamberhurst wild duck or 38-day aged fillet of beef.

Anderida’s table d’hôte choice showcases their chefs’ skill and ingenuity, with sweet and sour duck terrine and crispy won tons followed by roasted monkfish tails, curried potatoes, mango, almonds and cashew purée. Divine à la carte fish options include roasted gilt head bream, pesto and Gruyère strudel.

Fulsome Sunday lunches are served in lavish style, while a carefully chosen children’s menu will please with its high-quality ingredients. Driving or by taxi, Anderida Restaurant at Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club is around a 6-minute journey from Forest Row.

I was critical about the Sunday lunch previously but this time it couldn't be faulted. The service was excellent; friendly, efficient but unobtrusive. As last time, the meals were well presented, but thank goodness, this time round they were hot. I can't recall enjoying a better piece of pork.
Whether or not to do with staff rota's we couldn't tell but there were one or two subtle changes this time that seemed to make all the difference. Highly enjoyable visit.

Lovely restaurant and food very good too. Excellent service. Enjoyable experience. Only drawback was very chilly lounge where we met our friends for coffee.

Extremely disappointing. Let's start with the positives. The location and building, as anyone who has used before, cannot be faulted. The problem started once we entered the restaurant. The maitre d' may as well not have been there. Firstly the hot starters and main meals were all lukewarm at best. Unfortunate, as they were very well presented and all cooked as everyone requested, but when everything is cold, the rest goes out the window. Next, the personal hygiene of the waiter on our table left a lot to be desired, bad at the best of times, but when eating, forget it. There seemed to be a total paralysis among staff when trying to catch someone's eye to order after dinner coffees, should we even be trying to catch an eye? Eventually ordered, the wait for the teas and coffee to be served was even longer than it took for the meal itself.
OK, so those were the points that we complained about to the Duty General Manager. To be totally fair to him all were followed up immediately and apologies, reasons and a goodwill gesture was forthcoming, but that doesn't detract from a spoilt family birthday lunch. There were a number of other things that were wrong, like the piece-meal way the puddings were served to various members of the party (6 people), but enough said.
We've eaten and stayed at the Elite Hotels over a number of years and this year even had our wedding at the Grand. For some inexplicable reason, to me anyway, the service at Ashdown Park never quite matches any of the others. A real pity.

We were a little disappointed with our afternoon tea experience. The food was well presented and a nice selection. However because
Two of our guests didn’t eat a lot of the cakes and pastries there was a lot left over, which probably in value to at least one if not two of the tea.At previous venue this was packed in very nice boxes and we took it home.Perhaps to cover all taste a savoury selection would be perfect apart from the sandwiches.Thankyou for the cheesecake given to my husband as we celebrating his birthday.
The service was adequate but not outstanding some of our guests thought the room was cold.

The lamb was fabulous and the service was great. The wine list was both extensive and fairly reasonably priced. Having the meal billed to my room left me a bit confused about how to leave a tip, however, or whether service was included.

Great tea choices, not so much coffee. Great seating, very comfortable..
