Restaurant description

Basking in an enviable location on the magnificent Ashdown Park estate, the Anderida Restaurant offers refined gourmet dining in East Sussex. Holder of 2 AA Rosettes, the Anderida brings imaginative touches to exquisitely presented dishes, served in the grand dining room or al fresco in Ashdown Park Hotel’s stunning grounds.

The seasonal Anderida menu is complemented by a comprehensive AA Notable Wine List, exhibiting the best European and New World vintages and award-winning champagne. The Anderida Sommeliers will advise the perfect accompaniment to locally sourced Lamberhurst wild duck or 38-day aged fillet of beef.

Anderida’s table d’hôte choice showcases their chefs’ skill and ingenuity, with sweet and sour duck terrine and crispy won tons followed by roasted monkfish tails, curried potatoes, mango, almonds and cashew purée. Divine à la carte fish options include roasted gilt head bream, pesto and Gruyère strudel.

Fulsome Sunday lunches are served in lavish style, while a carefully chosen children’s menu will please with its high-quality ingredients. Driving or by taxi, Anderida Restaurant at Ashdown Park Hotel and Country Club is around a 6-minute journey from Forest Row.

we had a nice afternoon tea. it would of been nice with maybe homemade sausage roll and a Danish pastry. All nice and fresh but we were not asked if we wanted more sandwichesn which we would of loved. The scones were first class.

Lovely restaurant, very grand with beautiful views. All the staff were very polite, friendly and attentive both in the restaurant and the cocktail bar. Good selection of meals on both menus. My husband and I both had the Beef, linguini dish with black truffles it was very well presented and ever so tasty!

Lovely restaurant and atmosphere. Loved the piano playing in the background. Staff was friendly. My salmon starter was lovely, however some at my table had the pork starter and said it was quite bland. The roast beef was good, but the potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were a little cold and had clearly been sitting out for a long time. The potatoes were so hard I had trouble cutting them. They also did not taste very nice because they were so hard and stale. To be honest I have had better and fresher roast dinners at a pub. The puddings were very nice but I was not given what I ordered. The staff said that I had asked for the wrong thing but I know I didn’t. I did not like being blamed. They did offer to take it back but then I would have been waiting while my family ate theirs. We mentioned it when the bill came and there was an apology. In other restaurants and pubs a small amount would have been taken off the bill as a good will gesture. For a restaurant with such a good reputation I was a little disappointment and apart from the starter the meal didn’t quite meet my expectations.

Very disappointing experience. Booked for Sunday lunch for birthday celebration. Our pre and post lunch experience was good : we enjoyed relaxing in the pleasant lounge and walking in the beautiful grounds. Sadly, the ''star '' of the show ie our lunch, was very disappointing. We both chose Sunday roasts for our main courses and found the meat tasteless( the fat on the beef sirloin was inedible), and the roast potatoes and parsnip dried up and tough. Quite a lot was left uneaten. The starters and desserts were ok/ good. Sadly, we will not be returning.

Afternoon tea wasn’t as good as expected it to be. Food was good, presentation good but service not as smart as it could have been. For the money paid it should have been much better all round. General decor, looks tired.
