Owned by Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle, Asha’s Indian Bar and Restaurant serves deliciously authentic Indian cuisine and family recipes. Awarded Best Newcomer in the British Curry awards, Asha’s is a true favourite in the heart of Birmingham.

Traditional North Western Indian cuisine and traditional home cooking has influenced Asha‘s myriad of succulent meat and vegetarian dishes. Specials include the panchpharon whole lobster, simmered with 5 spices, whilst the lamb biryani oozes a rich saffron flavour. Asha Birmingham presents a number of delicious desserts of both British and Indian inspiration, including a chocolate fudge cake and the classic cold Indian dessert, Rasmali.

With its low celings and seductively lit rooms, Asha's exudes Bollywood glamour throughout. A cooly decorated space, Asha’s Bar and Restaurant features dark wood tables and vibrant orange and lime green furnishings, instantly putting you in the mood for a sophisticated Indian dining affair.

Close to the Great Western Arcade shopping centre, Asha's Indian Bar and Restaurant is also just a 5-minute walk to Birmingham Snow Hill Rail Station.

Went there for lunch and chose the set menu. A little bit limited for choice but what we had was excellent and very good value for money. Chose the mixed kebabs (sheesh. chicken plus king prawn) and the fish curry. My friends had the Rogan Josh which was a bit spicier but not too hot. The portions were good and all meals included rice and nan although the pre starter popadoms only came with a single accompaniment of mint yoghurt and we had to ask for (and pay for) extra relishes such as onion salad and chutneys. The lunch also comes with a drink - we all chose Kingfisher lager but wine was available. Good service and plenty of room as Asha's is a huge restaurant.

A very pleasant meal in lovely surroundings. The chicken kebab was particularly tasty.

Love the food and the service here. I will definitely be back. My only gripe is the fancy poppadums - bring back the normal large round ones !

    Excellent.
Service is very good, friendly and very efficient.
    Quality of food is excellent.
Range on the menu is good featuring traditional Indian meals plus many different options.
I'm not vegetarian but the vegetarian options looked extensive and mouthwatering.
Also, pleased to see that the 2 for 1 voucher was readily accepted without any discussion.
Finally, the place was full by 19:30 which isn't bad for a Thursday night.
