Went for our anniversary to try some exotic foods for the first time! Was definitely not disappointed -- cute little restaurant with nice decor and intimate tables. Fun menu designs and the food was really nicely prepared, definitely get drinks and desserts too.

One of the most unusual restaurants in London, Archipelago is a colourful den of exotic and adventurous flavours. Sample everything from crocodile and kangaroo meat, all in a seductive setting of tribal masks, fertility statues and peacock feathers.

The Archipelago menu is a true taste of the exotic and experimental. Hot and spicy jerked alpaca is served with candy beetroot, while sweet chilli smoked python carpaccio comes with green tea and wasabi crackers for that Asian-influenced crunch. There are aromatic curries, creamy blue cheese parfaits, and more recognisable options like the honey-glazed Mexican pork belly.

Side dishes at Archipelago in Fitzrovia are just as exotic, with Colombian queen leaf eater ants available to much on. To drink, there is a diverse wine list of international vintages, and some signature cocktails with eclectic infusions.

A truly unique restaurant in London that is perfect for the adventurous diner, Archipelago is a 5-minute walk from Goodge Street Tube Station.

It was a lot of fun eating here. Every dished surprised us and even though the ingredients were exotic, the overal taste was quite familiar and not too extravagant. The chef manages to create a balance of flavours allowing us to really taste each ingredient separately.
The staff was very helpful and polite making the experience even better.
I also loved that they gave us secret passwords for the table.

Was an amazing different experience! We totally recommend it!!! Even if you have never thought to try different type of meat, it is so good and nice cooked that you are gonna enjoy it.

Very eccentric restaurant, amazing experience to eat exotic meat and insects. Tried out several dishes from the menu. Waiters are exceptionally nice and willing to explain more about the menu.

Overall we liked the experience, but there were few small things which could be improved. The restaurant is nicely decorated and we really liked the atmosphere and presentation. However the service could be really better. Just during our stay we noticed these situations: the waiter brought us food, a small crouton fell on the table from my plate, the waiter just didn´t do anything and left - the crouton untouched, lying on the tablecloth. At the table next to us they brought different food than she ordered to some onthe customer. And in the end when we were paying they misheard the prize we were saying and almost charged us 50 pounds more than was our bill (yes, of course, we are not native speakers...but still that was quiet a lot of money).
But we really enjoyed the exotic food (except for a desert from frozen berries which were for my taste frozen too solid and my mounth tingled in not a really pleasant way - but that can be a matter of taste).
We thinkt that it is really good that such restaurant exists - where else could we eat a snake, alpaca, bugs or a bee. And the prices are really reasonable. But the overall service could still be improved. Maybe we just expected too much based on the other reviews? Who knows :)

First visit to this quirky little restaurant (though found out later that they have more seating downstairs). Staff were attentive to us as we waited for our friends to arrive. Cute touches to the exotic experience made it an even more enjoyable night- from the hand wash bowls to the cool menus.

Such a great range of exotic foods that we were all eager to try. I have to say that portions were smaller than expected- we all had 3 courses, extra sides, each plus wine and drinks and I would have expected to be more full afterwards. Such delicious food though- would definitely recommend the zebra jerky starter and crocodile? massaman curry. And not to forget the hidden secret bee dessert.

Great night spent at this quirky restaurant. Food and wine were nice, and expected to pay for such a different experience. But probably don't expect to get a hearty meal as portion size are below average.

Very unusual cuisine, but once you enter into the spirit of things, and realise there's nothing to fear, you'll love every minute of your time here.

Our dinner at the Archipelago was such a good moment, the restaurant is very pleasant (decoration and atmosphere).
The staff is very attentive but never embarrassing.
And non the less we had a great dinner, each meal was tasty and well cooked.
This was a very good experience, and a surprising discovery, a must-go.
