Afternoon tea was delicious. The scones were warm with lashings of cream and jam. Lemon curd was a thoughtful extra and the cakes were melt in the mouth .

Thoroughly enjoyable meal and a very professional and personal approach from the waiting staff.
I had the tandoori trout, with a mussel sauce and basmati rice and it was cooked perfectly.
Prices are not pub prices but they are not overly inflated either. I would say just right for the very good quality of the food. (About £20-£25 for one of the specials of the day).
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, whatsoever.
If I had one criticism, the restaurant area is quite small and lacks a little atmosphere but this in no way spoiled the evening.

Waiter was very attentive.
Food was good and the menu was varied.
Our side orders did not arrive with our mains, so we cancelled them.
The decor was a bit dated.
The disabled WC smelt of urine.

Lovely food, top quality and beautifully presented. Food and wine good value. Service was good too. Dining room large and plenty of space between tables. The decor was okay but what’s with the big brown plastic tree in the middle of the room? Maybe it’s a talking point but the room lacked atmosphere which makes the whole experience more enjoyable.

I would say I am pretty well traveled but have never written a review as a large percentage of them are stupid. However, facts are worth reporting. The hotel reception manager confirmed at 11.30am that morning by email that my alteration to the numbers dinning was fine for Sunday lunch with a smiley face. Sunday roast/lunch is well advertised on their web site. Four of us met at the restaurant - no Sunday lunch, no explanation, even when asked. Offerings were beef burger and fish and chips. I paid for our drinks and left.

We recently attended for afternoon tea for my mums 60th. We were all quite disappointed at the food and service. The staff weren't friendly. No one asked if we were ok or needed anything else. The sandwiches were very basic, boring and tiny. We had balloons up and no one said happy birthday to my mum or asked if we were having a good day. We had to wait ages for the bill. We won't be going back any time soon.

Nice but expensive for what we had. Service charge automatically added on top too, making it very expensive!
