Restaurant description

Set in an exclusive 4-star retreat, Arbor Restaurant serves refined British delicacies while staying true to eco principles and sustainable roots. Boasting 2 AA Rosettes and 2 Gold Awards from Dorset Tourism for Eating Out and Sustainability, the expansive gardens offer an ideal spot for al fresco dining.

Blending classic and contemporary cooking techniques, the Arbor menu makes use of daily deliveries of organic farm-assured produce and artisan specialities, as well as some of the UK’s finest fish and shellfish, fresh from trawlers. Serving uncomplicated, imaginative and honest food, the Arbor chefs mix the classic with the contemporary, with dishes like Lyme Bay scallops with creamed peas and bacon, or chorizo-stuffed chicken with red onion tart tatin.

Nestled in picturesque the Dorset countryside, Arbor is passionate about offering truly local flavours. The organic and biodynamic wine list restaurant has been extensively researched, with bottles painstakingly matched to the menu dishes.

Offering a chic setting that champions environmental responsibility, The Green House Hotel restaurant in Bournemouth offers a lush, natural hideaway. The Pavillion Theatre is 9 minutes’ walk away.

The restaurant had been recommended to us by a colleague who had dined with a much larger group the previous evening. It was a treat after a few days working on an exhibition stand. I do think that as we had come directly from work the staff could have been a little friendlier, but the food and it's presentation were delightful.

Afternoon tea was delicious. The scones were warm with lashings of cream and jam. Lemon curd was a thoughtful extra and the cakes were melt in the mouth .

Well presented restaurant in the Green House Hotel. Nice bar area for pre dinner drink and attentive and pleasant staff. Interesting food choices eg tandoori trout starter, rabbit, sea bream, pork rib eye. All four of us enjoyed the food and trying a local wine from Lyme Regis? that turned out to be much better than I expected. All in all a very nice evening with good well prepared food.

The atmosphere, location, staff and service were all excellent. The food was delicious and different just what I wanted for my birthday meal away from home. My tandoori trout with fennel starter was superb, I would like to see that as a main meal as it left me wanting more. I chose sea bass with chicken wings for my main but found the two flavours didn't really gel. I'd have preferred the sea bass on it's own it didn't need chicken wings with gravy as this detracted from the cauliflower purée but was still very enjoyable. The blueberry crumble cheesecake was devine. Excellent price 3 courses for £25 as we ate at 6:30pm. When I come and stay in Bournemouth again I will definitely be visiting the Arbor perhaps stay in the hotel do I can eat more meals there. Wish it was nearer home ??

Very yummy afternoon tea, was a present for my Mum for her Birthday. I'm dairy intolerant and still had a great spread of treats to choose from. The scones were delicious! I also tried some of the lemon curd that my Mum had, gorgeous! Lovely setting and good service too.

We dined at The Arbor on bank holiday Monday and I cannot find a fault with the meal! I had the pigs cheek terrine which was outstanding and the three way rabbit for main which again was faultless, great textures, excellently cooked, seasoned and presented. Overall I would highly recommend and I have eaten in 3 Michelin restaurants and this to memory is the best meal I have eaten out!!!! Book now

Beautiful meal, fabulous tastes. I did feel draught drink selection poor so had a couple of cocktails one of which, the mint chocolate martini was the most attractive cocktail I have ever seen and it tasted great. Went for Sunday lunch set menu for £25 per head which was great value. Looking forward to going back at some point for dinner.
