Fantastic meal, one of the beat we’ve had for a while. In particular the trout starter was beautiful, and the steak cooked perfectly. Atmosphere was lovely (this was a Valentine’s Day theme) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would certainly eat at the Arbor again!

We've eaten here a lot (10+) - I would confidently say this is one of (if not) the best restaurant(s) in Bournemouth. The chef is supremely talented and the food has never been less than awesome! If you're looking for a burger or fish & chips, you will find it but you'd be completely missing the point - the menu is always interesting and well thought out and some of the combinations are genius - I would even choose my meal blindfolded as I know what I receive will be exceptional! The physical dining room isn't that great (I feel a lot more could be done to funk the place up - losing that awful wooden tree for a start :) ) and the service doesn't always reach the right notes (but always comes close) but it's the food that we go for and that keeps us coming back!!

I booked in advance for a small group booking and had to contact again, twice, to fine-tune the arrangements. At every step, I received excellent service and communications and it was a nice touch to be personally welcomed on arrival, thank you. My guests and I are a 'dinner club' type of party of 6 former work colleagues who, for some ten years, now, have taken turns to make the next choice and we meet up at about six weekly intervals for a Friday dinner. We were all very impressed with the meals we ordered which were a good feast in very comfortable surroundings. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the day's fish special Hake dish, which was both very tasty and filling. Well done to the chef! Elsewhere, we have sometimes tolerated noisy restaurants and even one where the lighting was so dim that we had to use the light of mobile phones to read their menu! At Arbor, the environmental balance was just perfect and steps were quickly taken to stop a cold draught being caused by another customer who was standing, talking in the entrance hall while holding the front door wide open. This detailed attention to our needs was very much appreciated. We used the pre-18:30 fixed price menu and considered the meal was good value for money. A 100% good choice was agreed by all, thank you.
