it was very crowded and difficult to get into the tables. the menu was very basic - all things I can cook at home. the food other than the prawn cocktail which was very expensive for what it was and very dry was good and we did have a good evening. However for what it was it was very expensive for plain cooking.

The four of us had a beautiful, tasty Sunday lunch. We all chose the braised brisket of beef for mains and it just melted in your mouth. Lovely home cooked roast potatoes with selection of tasty root vegetables - diced turnip, swede and carrots also a medley of fresh greens. I had lobster + prawn cocktail to start which made a beautiful appetiser. The staff were so friendly and attentive at all times. They brought water to our table straight away, and even refilled it later without us asking. Lovely place with a warm atmosphere.

I had the tastiest steak I've had in a long time and as usual the service was top quality. It's a lovely restaurant with super friendly and helpful staff. The food served to the group was delicious, top quality and all freshly prepared

We had to ask twice for our order to be taken, we waited 80 minutes before our 4 mains arrived. The food was tasty.
We waited around 15-20 minutes imbtween ordering and reciving every drink. I then had to ask twice for our bill. The timing of the service was awful, the table was booked for 20:30 we left the restaurant after 4 mains at 22:45

Been quite afew times really enjoyed food. But not last night the turbot was completely bland I think over cooked . The potatoes and fennel were good .So disappointing when main part of meal was so poor.

Lovely cosy atmosphere. Second time here and it will become our regular when I'm in Cardiff. The octopus was quite chewy but good flavour. The bone in steak was one of the best I've eaten. Staff are lovely and friendly. After requesting the bill there was quite a long wait before table was cleared and the bill presented. Overall good food, good atmosphere, good staff. Thank you for another lovely evening.
