Restaurant description

aqua shard serves refined British cuisine within western Europe’s tallest building. A centrepiece bar showcases freshly-muddled cocktails, while floor-to-ceiling glass envelops this spectacular dining space which offers 360-degree views of London.

Premium produce is sourced from across the UK to make up the aqua shard menu, like meat from the celebrated Ginger Pig butchers, fish from south-west-coast day boats, and herbs and leaves from farms in nearby Bermondsey. Luxurious flavours include Longhorn dry-aged beef sirloin with roasted bone marrow, or roasted halibut with cockles and grilled langoustines.

Nestled within aqua Shard in London, a 3-storey atrium bar offers a lengthy drinks list, and a host of enticing signature cocktails. Sample the almondy Battenberg martini, or an indulgent Devonshire cream cup.

Enjoy London's ultimate treat in the aptly-named ‘Tea Wing’: aqua shard’s contemporary British afternoon tea. Dine in the stunning triple-height glass atrium at this restaurant in The Shard, and sample a selection of sumptuous finger sandwiches, freshly-baked scones served with Jersey clotted cream and homemade jams, and innovative cakes and sweet treats.

I came to the restaurant when it first opened and sad to say it has gone downhill since then. The food was so so, and worse than many a far cheaper place. The restaurant decor had grown shoddy, bathrooms were dilapidated and not clean enough...it was panicking to pry my way out of my cubicle. Worst of all the music was so loud my guests and I could not hear each other speak. On top of it All the windowside tables , despite my ask on the reservation, were only for two. This has become s restaurant for tourists only, but I doubt I’ll take anyone back there for more than a drink. (The staff were friendly enough, not their doing)

Disappointing for a number of reasons. Table booked for 20:15 and we were not taken to our table until 21:00. The food, albeit very well cooked, left vegetables cold. The music was loud. A birthday celebration with no cake offered as promised at time of booking. The manager and waitress were very good. Service charge refunded and a free bottle of champagne offered as compensation, I am hopeful this will be offered when we arrive.

Great venue with spectacular views particularly at night. Bar area is far too busy for number of staff/guests and we waited well over half an hour from ordering our drinks to the appearing on our table. Cocktails were very drinkable when they arrived! Same experience of service when we went through for dinner. We all enjoyed the food we were served and the scallop starter was sublime. The wine list is designed for plutocrats with sky high prices for even moderate wines. Expect a very large bill when you have finished your meal! The noise level throughout the bar and restaurant area can be excruciating and they even had loud music playing when we arrived

Very enjoyable experience. Food was wonderful and staff excellent. Booked by phone prior day with no issues. Sea Trout was my favourite although the lamb was excellent.

Excellent food. Service could do better. Having eaten here previously we knew the food would be unbelievable and this did not disappoint. The service on this occasion was poor. We don’t like to be rushed when we fine dine however it was around 3.5 hours from start to finish with over an hour between finishing our main course to even taking our desert order. Our glasses remained empty throughout with no one taking our order to replenish them. When the desert and drink order was finally taken it then took a further 25 minutes to receive the food and drink and only after I promoted the waiter. We did get 2 drinks taken of our final bill which I was content with at the time however when you are paying around £250 for a meal with 12.5% service charge automatically added I expect more. In hindsight I should not have paid the service charge but after waiting so long it was nearly 2340 and we needed to get our train. To summarise great food. Great view. Disappointed with the service.
