Went for Mary Poppins afternoon tea. The food was abundant, however quality was lacking, particularly in the sandwiches. As one of the more expensive afternoon teas in London it doesn't compare with places like the Ritz but the view is, of course, spectacular.

The Mary Poppins Afternoon Tea was a great experience overall. The day we visited was glorious so the view was incredible. Our service was provided by a young Greek gentlemen called Ilias and he was very attentive. The sandwiches were really tasty, the scones delicious, you will not find these in the supermarkets. We were not impressed however with the cakes. They looked really nice but we did not enjoy any of them. As it was my birthday, Ilias arranged two complimentary glasses of prosecco and a sweet birthday bite which was a really nice gesture.

The weather, and, therefore, the view were superb! We dined on the fixed price menu and felt that the portions were terribly small. Wine list do not give any value options. Staff were excellent. Overall experience was good.

It was a lovely sunny Friday afternoon. The restaurant was exceptionally busy however with far too few staff. We were left with dirty plates on the table for 25minutes after the main course before someone came to remove them and take a dessert order and that was because we had to ask 3 times. Waiting staff poured wine in a hurry that splashed on the table and the service was hurried. The food was delicious as always but just not the experience I have come to expect from a shard restaurant.

The venue is lovely, long views over London. The menu was good and we enjoyed all the courses we had. The only thing that rather overshadowed the experience was that our waitress was very absent during our visit and we were left sitting over empty plates for long periods of time. All the other staff were really good.

Everything is nice

The food was lovely and the waiting staff were excellent. The only thing that let the experience down was the reception. He didn't offer to take our coats and left us to wander around. We went to the bar and were told to sit anywhere by a very uninterested waitress and found there were no available seats, after more wandering. No one called us to our table, we had to queue again to be seated. It all seemed very amateur and not in keeping with the rest of the experience. We were not the only guests to comment on this.
