Boasting one of London’s most exclusive settings and a rooftop bar, contemporary Spanish restaurant aqua nueva sits on top of the former Dickins & Jones department store. The Robert Angell-designed interior mirrors Spanish culture, with ornate black and white mosaic floors running throughout, and a glimmering copper-coloured vaulted ceiling giving a nod to the famous sherry casks of Jerez.

Its rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views across the city skyline, and is the perfect setting for one of the colourful cocktails prepared by the mixologists. The ‘Inspired by Spain’ cocktail menu complements the food menu, alongside a range of aqua classics.
Spanish recipes and tapas classics are given innovative tweaks at aqua nueva near Oxford Circus. Head Chef Yahir Gonzalez presents a menu of small plates inspired by the culinary heritage and innovation on Spain, offering a flexible, seasonal dining experience. Guests can also enjoy a moreish range of bar snacks all day.

This was a pre theatre trip first time and it did not disappoint, the dining was lovely views of the London Eye, excellent unobtrusive service. Waiter absolutely divine, food exquisite, 2 people only need a max of 3 tapas each, The lamb, superb, Lamb Empanada, Piquillo Pepper Purée, Monkfish also very good and Stuffed Piquillo Peppers, Baby Spinach, Chickpeas to die for. Worth a visit.

The restaurant has lovely decor but unfortunately we were not impressed with the food. It bears very little resemblance to any Spanish tapas I have ever had. The patatas bravas was three rectangles of flattened potatoes with a blob of spicy sauce piped on. The chicken skewers were horrible. Cannot recommend it for tapas.

The only place to eat if you’re going to the Palladium. Wine measures were tiny and overall it was pricey but the food, service and location makes it a place we will re-visit

My friend and I had the 4 course with cocktail offer. The waiter replaced the cocktail with a glass of wine for us as the cocktail included in the offer was not to our taste. The food was delicious served nicely in this exquisitely designed establishment. Enjoyed the experience. Would return again and recommend to friends who enjoy something different.

Short ribs were fantastic! Average salad. Croquettes yummy. A pre-dinner drink on the roof top is lovely. Super evening until I was given all my change in silver coins. Such a low class attempt to get patrons to leave extra money especially after the tip is included in the bill.
