Restaurant description

Boasting one of London’s most exclusive settings and a rooftop bar, contemporary Spanish restaurant aqua nueva sits on top of the former Dickins & Jones department store. The Robert Angell-designed interior mirrors Spanish culture, with ornate black and white mosaic floors running throughout, and a glimmering copper-coloured vaulted ceiling giving a nod to the famous sherry casks of Jerez.

aqua nueva in London sits right in the hub of Oxford Circus. Its rooftop terrace offers breathtaking views across the city skyline, and is the perfect setting for one of the colourful cocktails prepared by the mixologists. The ‘Inspired by Spain’ cocktail menu complements the food menu, alongside a range of aqua classics.

Spanish recipes and tapas classics are given innovative tweaks at aqua nueva near Oxford Circus. Head Chef Yahir Gonzalez presents a menu of small plates inspired by the culinary heritage and innovation on Spain, offering a flexible, seasonal dining experience. Guests can also enjoy a moreish range of bar snacks all day.

Ultra glamorous yet retaining an intimate ambience, aqua nueva restaurant sits opposite the London Palladium, and is just moments from Oxford Circus Tube Station.

Lovely tapas courses, good wine and good service. Would benefit hugely from table service on the terrace and more bar staff, as the bar is very busy and understaffed with three bartenders. The over-long queuing wastes drinking time and detracts from the overall experience.

Amazing Lunch! Two of us shared six outstanding tapas and then paella. Each tapas dish was was delicious, generous, and very unique. Not at all the usual albondigas or patatas bravas. Absolutely recommend! A beautiful setting as well and excellent service. We'll certainly be back.

The food was well presented. Staff were really friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was nice. My favourite dish was the ribs with the bravas, the lamb was nice and came in a nice mini grill. Portions were small and cute.

Fantastic experience. Highly recommended. Couldn't have had a nicer meal. Food was just great, service excellent and loved the restaurant, the bar, and the location. The bar manager was just great and even though they were busy he found time to talk to us. Will definitely go back in nicer weather to experience the terrace bar.

We were the first to arrive for dinner, and the friendly waitress offered us 'the best table in the restaurant'--with one seat that faced a window over West London. That was the first of many happy surprises for us: --dishes that offered a surprising balance of flavours, like the grilled mackerel starter with aubergine and bitter leaves--left no oily fish taste as mackerel can do; --plays on traditional Spanish tapas, like the pimientos del piquillo rellenos that tested better than any croquet had a right to taste; and --blackberry empanada, a fresh tart with a flavour as tongue rolling tart as citrus. The waitress's accommodating service set the standard for the rest of the evening. Our wine arrived in minutes, our glasses remained filled and our needs were answered. Plus, one could take a refreshing walk through the bar to the restaurant's roof deck, thankfully boisterous and cheery, but not jam packed.

Very nice restaurant in beautiful atmosphere. Food was good, though not extraordinary. Drinks could have been better.

Very tasty food set menu and excellent value, waiting staff couldn't have done more for us and were very friendly. Location and setting is superb but I'm sure we would've enjoyed the roof top garden more in the Summer!
