I enjoyed 'brunch' here, however the menu was a traditional lunch menu of sushi and grilled meat, fish and veg, it would be more apt to rename the brunch menu as simply lunch. The service was good. I opted for bottomless cocktails and the waitress obliged all my cocktail orders without too long a wait in between drinks. The food was very nice, with some of the sushi being exceptional. My partner especially liked the grilled salmon skewer. Only complaint was that I was feeling rather full towards the end of the meal and asked to take away the last course of my meal. I received a very curt response from one of the balding male servers who told me this could not be done, which was unhelpful. Given that all restaurants I have visited make an effort to do this for diners (Michelin and swanky mayfair restaurants included). I found this quite strange. After eating, I finished the remaining cocktail on their rooftop terrace, which was lovely and refreshing.

Lovely food, well presented. However, the ‘main’ was very small - could have benefited from a side dish, even if just rice! Lovely staff although none wore masks which was surprising

Beef Rib was amazing, delicious. Tempura Devine. Miso Soup and Salad Roll nice even good. Blackened Cod very poor or just not to our taste, poor seasoning and lacking flavour. Ice cream ok my wife didn’t like the gel or noodle outer. Wine way too expensive...

We had a fantastic meal at Aqua Kyoto recently . The restaurant has had a refurbishment since we last went there and was really chic looking and the atmosphere was buzzing. The food was excellent especially the beef short rib (we all had the set menu). The only criticism was that it didn’t have any rice or vegetables with it. Luckily others at the table had the black cod which came with lots of rice. The service was very attentive but possibly a bit too keen to clear the table. I guess they are keen to get a second sitting in the restaurant and so the meal felt slightly rushed. At one point the waiter knocked over a full glass of wine and shattered the glass but fortunately they offered us a new table and bottle of wine. All in all though, a lovely evening with amazing food. Will definitely go back!

Terrific- stylish and fun place with excellent and delicious menu. Great service from the waiting stuff who prepared some food at our table. Not cheap a la carte but fixed price offer is outstanding value
