Poor quality food, not very well prepared and cold. Slow service. One of us eating on their own as only one dish came from the kitchen for 10 minutes. No excuse as not very busy.

A real find in South Kensington. Beautiful boutique style hotel Apero in the basement. Very nice styling and charming polite service. We chose table d'hote menu and my friend chose the paella. It was very dry. My bruschetta and pasta dish was fine. Bakewell tart with vanilla ice cream was warm and totally delicious. I ordered a gin and tonic but it was served with the tonic already in the gin. I prefer to pour my own tonic. A small complaint.

This was our second visit to Apero and I am quite disappointed. First visit was in Feb 2016, and we had a great time. We were therefore looking forward to coming back a second time. The poor experience started already when trying to book a table. We made a call to reserve, and were met with an automatic phone service where - at the very end - I had to input my mobile number. However, their service only accepted UK phone numbers. In the end, we found another online system, via another website, where we could book a table.
The restaurant experience was even more horrible. We made our orders, but had to wait up to 20 mins just to get our drinks. That was after two (2!) reminders during that wait time. The drinks themselves were also disappointing; just lots and lots of crushed ice (I had to remove half of it to even get down to the drink).
We had to wait another half an hour for the food. The food itself was good, but not better than what you get elsewhere. But with that kind of service, it's just not worth the wait. The only positive thing I have to say about the place is the atmosphere. It's a nice place in the basement of a London hotel. Rustique tables and nice decorations. But that's pretty much it. We will not come back again, unfortunately.

Food was good. But service could be a little bit more improved... We needed to ask waiters "excuse me" all time.

We selected the set lunch menu @£16 for 3 courses. Mackerel fillet starter was tasty but a bit on the small side; artichoke soup was good. Main course of lamb with new potatoes and broccoli was delicious: extremely tender and flavoursome. All had panna cotta for pudding and this was very good as well.

My only criticism would be that the service was a bit disorganised (starters came at separate times and wine took a while to arrive) - otherwise excellent.

We had a nice dinner at Apero with my spouse and my mother. Menu was good, especially the Easter menu: Jerusalem artichoke soup was maybe the best artichoke soup I have ever tasted and the Coconut risotto was delicious too.
My mother ordered food from the main menu. Her "appetizer" never arrived (it was not billed either). Also the lamb skewers on the main menu were not very good quality meat. We also had to ask for the dessert which we had ordered, since it was not automaticly served after dinner. The strawberry and rhubarb panna cotta was amazingly good! The service was overall ok - friendly but a bit sloppy. I would visit again.

Nice restaurant. Had breakfast there as was staying at the hotel.
When our breakfasts were brought, one of the dishes was wrong. By the time the correct one was brought, my food was cold.

Would not go there again. Service was a disaster: very slow and we were only a few customers in the restaurant, mistakes in the order, additional dishes became quickly annoying. Food was good (not bad, not great).
