Trendy and contemporary, Anokha Restaurant invites you to enjoy true Indian cuisine in a stunning dining area. When translated, 'Anokha' means 'unique' and that is certainly a apt description of the food and decor of this tranquil Indian restaurant, with dark wooden floors complemented by cream walls and atmospheric lighting. In Ankhora's menu, you will find classic regional dishes nestling alongside the more contemporary offerings. Here, you could start with a delicately spiced scallop purée and then move on to Ankhora's unique Chicken Handi Laziz - or even try an Indian Green Curry. Fish and vegetables feature largely on the menu, with particular examples including Rogan Trout and Shobi Chadpuri. With an emphasis on healthy-eating, many of the dishes are char grilled and the use of fresh ingredients means there is no compromise on flavour.

The food here was fantastic - the lime pickle and other dips that we had with our poppadoms were the best I've ever tasted (and I've had a lot of curries in my time!). However, the service left a bit to be desired. We were finishing our drinks at the end when one of the waiters came over and took our tablecloth away. We had to actually lift up wine glasses, bottles of water and plates to enable him to do it! All a bit odd we thought. So when we decided not to give all of the 'suggested' 12.5% tip, they came back and queried whether we had paid enough!
