Anglo always delivers stunning food. We discovered it last December and we’re really impressed by the quality, cost and service.

A sleek, understated restaurant found just of charming Leather Lane in Farringdon, Anglo showcases forward-thinking, modern British cuisine. Head chef Mark Jarvis has worked alongside some of the best restaurants in the UK, and alongside chefs including Ollie Dabbous, and Raymond Blanc.

Cherry-picking ingredients from across the British Isles, the Anglo menu might include Goosnargh duck with plum & liver, or barley risotto with Australian truffle & mascarpone. For dessert, enjoy the likes of chocolate parfait with cherries & toasted almond, or a selection of fine cheeses.

Anglo in Farringdon also offers adventurous tasting menus, with expertly matched drinks pairings and dessert wines available. The on-trend, minimalist dining room features a neutral, earthy colour palette, treated wood and reclaimed-style school chairs.

Described in Grace Dent’s 5-star review as ‘Noma, if it was born and raised in Norwich’, Anglo in London brings truly unique cooking to one of the capital’s trendiest districts. Farringdon Station is a 4-minute walk away.

Excellent food, superb service, great value! Will be dreaming of the snacks, truffle risotto, plaice with Jerusalem artichoke and rhubarb tart!

Anglo used to be the best secret bargain in town. Now, I say, it’s fearly priced. Chefs used to come to the table and explain each dish but this doesn’t happen anymore. Still this is not a criticism but more of an observation as it doesn’t compromise the quality of the food in any way and perhaps it’s a good thing Leaving them to do what they do best, cook us amazing food.
The way the flovours marry together is exceptional and the inventiveness out of this world.
Too many favourite dishes to list (too many visits now) however the yeast butter, something as simple as this, is worth a “solo” mention, I dream of this, can’t get enough! AMAZING!
Drinks are well thought and well paired. I personally, would change the ale that comes with pudding at the end, not my cup of tea, still want to leave with a sweet taste and not as if I munch on a bouquet of flowers. Personal preference, I suppose.
All in all l, Anglo has become part of my family, one of my favourite spots in town!
The ever changing menu is always exciting! Unpretentiously superb!
    Bring on winter menu!!

Another really wonderful gem of a meal at Anglo- this time I was there for the 3 course lunch time tasting menu, and it was yet again, just delightful. Starter was a cone of chicken liver parfait with plum chutney, entirely delicious, followed by Anglo's home made sourdough and yeast butter and smoked olive oil- how do they get so much flavour into bread and butter? We then had one plaice and one chicken- succulent, perfectly cooked on both counts, light jus, crispy little vegetables. then a sticky toffee pudding and yogurt ice cream- yes, folks, this is seriously good cooking. And it was still only lunch time, so we had a glass of house rose, light, refreshing, just right. I'll be back....

One of the best meals I have ever had. Every single dish was outstanding with great flavours and I would have great difficulty choosing a favourite. Very good friendly service from all staff. Wished we lived closer for regular visits but we will be back next time we are in London. Can’t wait.

The best tasting menu we have ever had!
It started with exceptional service,a buzzing cosy atmosphere and a warm welcome.
It is hard to specify a favourite dish as they were all amazing in their own way.
The snacks at the beginning were exciting and tasty, the soup was incredible with the most delicious bread with yeast butter. The scallop was the best Ive tasted, the plaice was sublime, the beef tender and rich and the desserts hit the spot!
    Quite simply something else!

    Overall it was very pleasant.

One small thing though: we were the first table that night (630pm) and as such I think we had every waiter's attention. As a result service was a bit too-efficient and our conversation pretty frequently was cut off. It would be nice if there is some room between courses.

And thanks for the birthday plate!

An outstandingly good lunch, taking advantage of Anglo's 50% deal on the tasting menu. The food is fresh, as local as possible and wonderfully innovative. Service is first class: charming and intelligent. Even with a pre-lunch cocktail and a delicious bottle of red, the bill was absurdly low for such a high standard of cooking.

I unfortunately fell ill parteay through the dinner - nothing to do with the restaurant, and had to leave. They were extremely accomodating and charged me only half the price even though I had said I was completely fine with paying full price. The food I had was great - especially the snacks. Service was slightly slow but it meant you could make an evening out of it and never feel rushed.
