When you walk into the hotel it seems a bit aseptic and lacking personality. But the grill is charming with dark wood features and a lovely almost art deco feel to some of the mirrors and features. We were greeted by a very welcoming gentleman at the front desk. It was very quiet in the restaurant but I wasn't too surprised considering it was a Monday night and the weather outside was lovely which tends to keep Londoners outdoors. Throughout the meal the service was friendly and timely without being pushy or over intrusive. The meal was delicious. The highlights of our table were definitely the fennel soup and the passionfruit and mango eton mess. Yum yum yum! We used a voucher from wowcher and had an incredible three course meal for amazing value. The only complaint was the espresso at the end, burnt and unpleasant.

I would certainly recommend this place to a friend.

Service really bad. We did no get the pimms that was meant to be in the deal instead some weird ice tea. Had to constantly look for waiters. Would not recommend.

Our June half price afternoon tea was good value but poor for full price. The champagne was served in perfectly chilled glasses. The finger sandwiches were more vegetarian with one smoked salmon open sandwich. Our "freshly baked crumbly scones" were over baked and not that crumbly which spoiled the presentation. Service was fairly attentive but somewhat sporadic for a venue with only 4 to 5 tables occupied.

Only booked night before and never been here before. Phoned in morning to increase the number of people with no problems. Service was amazing, staff approachable and helpful, food was brilliant, great value for money

    Just wonderful.

Our group arrived to a friendly welcome and were led to a beautifully laid table with delicate fine bone china teacups. The process of the afternoon tea was explained and staff were most helpful and knowledgeable with the vast array of teas on offer.

The champagne was of good quality and the food devine. Highly recommended. Thank you to all the staff at The Grill, our visit was the perfect ending to our wonderful city break. We are already looking forward to a return visit.
