We had beautiful tea in a very calming and stylish restaurant. Staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious. Thought it was one of the best afternoon teas we have had in London.

I was there on Friday 18th of August, after a long day with my husband. I finished work in Bromley Common, took the train to London Victoria and met my husband at John Lewis to take him for a drink to roof top garden bar as he had never visited the place, so you can imagine we were very hungry once we got to Amba Hotel, the waiter served us was very polite, served the presseco with bottle and was very professional, but the we had to wait a long time to be asked for our starter and dinner. I like the hotel& the food but the service was very slow and the food was not what I really expected. I like the Amba Hotel as is in Oxford Street and handy if you are shopping but like a bit of ambience and faster service and fine dinning menu. I hope the hotel improves the qualiy of food and the service will be faster. Waiters are very polite& normally do their best. I normally purchase a Buyagift voucher and pay as normall customers but only I pay in advance. Thank you

The reason for my visit, is that I wanted my granddaughter to experience what it was like to have afternoon tea at an hotel which she love very much, she said that when she saw what we were having how was sandwich and cakes fill her up, to be honest she was very surprised that it did to the point we had to take home was we both could not eat; we had a great time, and the service was wonderful and friendly.

I have took two newly wed guests to Amba Hotel, four people& paid £98.00 in total. The experience was very good, our waiter was very skilled and well spoken. There is only lack of ambience and no music at the back ground. I treated a few people there and I would like my opinion. Help your business. A regular user of Amba Hotel Grill Restaurant

The afternoon tea was delicious! They kept getting our tea order wrong but apart from that the actual taste of the afternoon tea was yummy.

The only slight issue we had was the payment. When we first arrived they asked for a voucher but I didn't have a voucher - just a 25% money off code. When we asked for the bill they had only charged us for 1 plate of extra sandwiches (although this is something I have received free at other venues). As a loyal citizen instead of just paying the £5.57 plate of sandwiches I owned up and explained that we hadn't paid for any of the 9 afternoon teas. The gentlemen apologised and re-printed our bill. At this point it would have been a nice gesture to take some money off; for my honesty - perhaps the £21 service charge would have been nice. But he didn't and this was slightly disappointing as the hotel could have been out of a lot of pocket had this happened to someone else not so loyal. Thanks

I went to the Amba hotel with a group of friends.
A nicely presented restaurant area with a comfortable relaxed feel, and polite and helpful staff.
We were all impressed with the taste of the teas. The earl grey, white tea and the pomegranate were excellent.....the cakes too.
    Very good service.

When you walk into the hotel it seems a bit aseptic and lacking personality. But the grill is charming with dark wood features and a lovely almost art deco feel to some of the mirrors and features. We were greeted by a very welcoming gentleman at the front desk. It was very quiet in the restaurant but I wasn't too surprised considering it was a Monday night and the weather outside was lovely which tends to keep Londoners outdoors. Throughout the meal the service was friendly and timely without being pushy or over intrusive. The meal was delicious. The highlights of our table were definitely the fennel soup and the passionfruit and mango eton mess. Yum yum yum! We used a voucher from wowcher and had an incredible three course meal for amazing value. The only complaint was the espresso at the end, burnt and unpleasant.

I would certainly recommend this place to a friend.
