The food was mediocre and the service inattentive. Beautiful location and venue. Shame about the rest.

We only found out about this restaurant during London Restaurant Festival, decided to book it and Amaranto did not disappoint. Every item on the menu was prepared with extreme care and to perfection. My partner usually abstains from anything to do with pate, but even she loved the mushroom cream pate-like dish that came as an appetizer. The bread selection was wonderful as well. The starter was home made tagliatelle with seafood. Again, the flavours were tantalising and did not disappoint. The portions were generous as well. The mains did not disappoint. As it was a set menu, we had the chicken breast with a creamy sauce. Again, the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce presented a unique flavour and twist against a normal creamy sauce. For the dessert, we had chestnut ricotta which was prepared very well. We would have preferred panna cotta but let me emphasise that we were ordering from a set menu and had no qualms about the ricotta. Finally, we felt very welcome by the people serving us. They were very professional, always attending to you at the right moment and never forceful. The delightful experience compelled me to write a favourable review. Note that I have given 4/5 stars for value for money because I dined at a discount, but the quality of the food was superb.
