We went to the restaurant specifically to sample the Veganuary menu. My partner and I are both vegan and love that All Bar One offer not only the vegan menu for January, but vegan options on their regular menu. Our only disappointment was that several options, that we had wanted to try, were unavailable.

When we arrived after a day at Newmarket Races (bearing in mind there were 10 of us) there was no table reserved for us as other guests take the reserved signs off the tables (why the waitresses can't spot that i'm not sure).... then there was drama because the table hadn't been reserved for food only drink (....there was nothing on the bookatable site to suggest there was any differentiation) - BUT after a bit of discussion with the manager they resolved the situation, we had a great spot, the waitresses were lovely and very attentive and helpful and we had a great night - so a tricky start but ended well.

We visit this bar quite often, this time there was a new menu (and a lot of new staff). The service was excellent and the food very nice. We shared five small plates which is good value for £25. Loved the duck dumplings, the prawns and the teriyaki chicken, though dish was smaller than in the past. The jury is out on the lamb in rice dish, not bad but the quinoa salad with it was not to our taste. The final dish was two pots of humus, one was fine , the other a bit strange. That said we had a great evening with a special deal bottle of fizz for only £15.

We booked for the offer of 3 tasting dishes and a bottle of bubbly for £25. When we ordered, we we told that they were out stock of Prosecco so we would have to choose something else. On complaining, we were offered Champagne as an alternative at the same price. We obviously accepted the offer and had a very nice meal.

The food was fine. Unfortunately, however, the venue was too noisy for a conversation. Instead of pleasant background music we had to shout over what was virtually a concert. I'm afraid I wouldn't contemplate going back on a Sunday if there was live music again :( We asked if it could be turned down but we were told it couldn't...
