Afternoon tea was lovely. We booked for my dads 83rd birthday. Waiter was really attentive. When we told him my dad used to work at the Waldorf fifty years ago, he took us on a mini tour after our tea, which my dad loved. He was wonderful. Rounded off a lovely afternoon.

I regularly take afternoon tea and have been to several of London’s well known hotels and establishments.

I had assumed that afternoon tea at the Waldorf hotel would be five star but there were a few things that I feel let the experience down.

The selection of sandwiches was fairly poor and i had requested pescatarian but had coronation chicken and ham.

The scones were tiny, bite size in fact.

The service was slow and it was 45 minutes into our tea when we called the waiter over and asked for some tea. We then had to remind the waiter we were waiting for the tea.

The champagne was ‘free flowing’ but it wasn’t offered very freely unfortunately.

We were within our time slot and the restaurant was being cleared away and closed down around us while we were still there.

My expectations of an establishment as well know as the Waldorf unfortunately were not met.

Diabolical service except for Liam who looked after us extremely well. Sandwiches didn't arrive for nearly an hour after being seated. Despite 3 requests for extra sandwiches they never came. My tea order was forgotten for quite a long while.

A very lovely experience. Food and champagne were delicious. The staff were very courteous and service was excellent.

Very poor service, everything was too much trouble for the French waiter who served us and he was blatantly rude.
Had to continually ask to be topped up for the "unlimited" champagne!!!!

The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive the champagne was definitely free flowing. The tea selection was fantastic and the food was delicious. The tea room was absolutely gorgeous. Everything about this experience was magnificent and made for a very special first afternoon tea

I had an absolutely fantastic time, I had read the really bad reviews about afternoon tea at the Waldorf and was really worried about taking my mum and aunt. All my worries went away after we sat down and was treated by our waitress Mary. The service was brilliant, the champagne was flowing, never had to ask for my glass to be refilled and what a lovely guy he was too. Mary ensured that there was plenty of sandwiches, cakes and tea. And to top it all off the piano player was behind me and what a lovely gentleman he was too and very chatty and friendly. Me and my mum are vegans and we were well catered for. Couldn't fault it.

I'm afraid we were very disappointed in this venue .. have had many ekndetful afternoon teas in beautiful London hotels . This had no wow factor at all being held in a large ballroom type room with no atmosphere at all . The token gesture of a bit of piano playing wasn't enough .
Yes it was good value with unlimited champagne and the food was fine .. cakes were very pretty .. the waiter was very pleasant but I'm afraid this did not hit the spot for us . There are much nicer venues for tea all over London .
