Offering postcard-worthy views over Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, Afternoon Tea at The Library Lounge is housed in the Marriott County Hall Hotel. In this landmark building, gorgeous library-style surroundings offer old world charm.

On The Library Lounge menu, freshly-cut finger sandwiches feature traditional fillings with a refined twist, with offerings like cucumber & mint, Surrey duck egg mayonnaise and succulent roast beef with horseradish. Irresistible arrangements of cakes and fancies include English rhubarb and white chocolate lollipop or Valrhona chocolate mousse, as well as sweet and savoury scones served with seasonal jams and artisanal cheeses.

Piled high bookshelves and plush armchairs make for wonderfully cosy surroundings at The Library Lounge London. Luxurious liquid accompaniments include fine leaf teas, elegant flutes of champagne and sparkling wine, and cleansing gin cocktails.

A quintessentially English retreat in one of the city’s most vibrant areas, The Library Lounge South Bank is 4 minutes’ walk from Waterloo Station. The Library Lounge can be accessed via the main entrance to the London Marriott Hotel on Westminster Bridge Road. Alternatively, enter via the South Bank (Queen's Walk), above the London Aquarium. Valet parking is also available on site.

Outstanding, well worth paying the extra for the champagne refill

Great views from the windows along the river - very nice staff couldn’t be more helpful - we took my niece at the last meeting and they changed our 2 seater to a 3 table - food was ok but not that tasty except for the scones with jam and cream - we ve been for a few afternoon teas in London over the last couple of years and would not recommend it - although cheaper than the others not the same quality of food and expensive for what you get.

The tea had the usual delicious scones - LOVE the savoury one's the most with the sundried tomato spread.
The sandwiches were good however a little stale - and when we ordered extra they only brought some of them and not others - again of which the bread on a few of them were very stale.
Pastries were good as usual and very tasty.

Lovely setting and location. Service was wonderful and the free-flowing sparkling wine was a nice addition.

A real treat ! Surely it is not a cheap thing to do but we really enjoyed every minute. My earl grey was perfect and so was the free flowing sparkling wine: every single sip was refilled promptly. My 13 years old son liked the curry chicken sandwiches and Ian brought some more....scones were perfect and clotted cream delicious. Looking for doing it again !

Great experience, very polite waiters, fantastic view. Classy feeling, definitely to recommend.
Sandwiches are nothing special, tea was good and sweets are delicious.

Really liked the venue and the library lounge. The afternoon tea selection was lovely and tasty and well presented and generous. We were in no doubt that we were able to ask for more if required, whether the food, tea or bottomless bubbles. Our waiter was an absolute charming young man, who gave excellent customer service and look after us very well - a real credit to The Library Lounge. The only suggestion would be for some nice background music for the ambience. It wasn't very busy, probably being a Monday afternoon, which doesn't detract from the place, but without the hum of conversations, the silence was noticeable.

The Library Lounge always offers a spectacular afternoon. The staff are truly outstanding and the food and free flowing bubbles always on point. With a fabulous atmosphere and gorgeous views I do not know how anyone could be less than delighted with afternoon tea here

Great afternoon tea. Different to the normal offerings. We had a lime and banana mousse to start, a tasty oblong quiche and sandwiches along with sweet snd savory toppings for the scones and some lovely cakes to finish. Chose the menu with the freeflowing alcohol which was really worth the money. The service was great. Will be going again!
