Old school charm with an absolute classic tea. Wonderful staff glide around the room, whilst serving & filling. Nothing new fangled or overly fancy. Nothing gastronomic. A discrete place for a light meal and good catch up with a few cocktails thrown in for good measure.

Champagne afternoon tea, a gift for my birthday. Was a really lovely treat but so expensive!! And far too much food

The service was OK, although I had to repeat my self on occasion leading me to believe that they weren't listening but rather going through the motions.
Also, I don't enjoy an all-male service team. Where do the women work??

I discussed with the front desk buying another round of champagne and when I ordered it wit the waiting staff, they told me rather patronisingly that there would be a charge for the champagne - I can't imagine why they though I would be expecting free drinks.

As always we were treated as friends and as the most important clients

Hard to say other than outstanding! :

An absolutely wonderful experience; we felt as if we were important guests in a grand home. The Maitre’d and waiters were gracious and the food was delicious. I had forgotten to mention Roger preferred Gluten Free but they insisted on making his own tier of goodies. We would like to stay at the hotel on one of our future visits from Canada. And of course make sure we can enjoy another tea.
    Please send our thanks.

    Moira and Roger Taylor.

The assortment of food is delicious, especially the scones! The tea is great as well.

The Goring is our favourite. However the order & final bill was messed up. But without any delay by the staff we had the cost of 2 glasses of champagne each taken off the bill. . So top marks for that

Everything was beautiful from sterling through the doors to sitting in your chair. The hotel details such as hand painted wallpapers and fireplaces really lead to a wonderful afternoon tea experience.

My favourite dish were the scones
They were so light and fluffy, like a cloud, on the inside.
