Relaxed afternoon tea. Good sized sandwiches and lovely cakes and scones. Plenty of tea/ coffee although more types of tea would have been better. Good service and we stayed there all afternoon without being ushered out.

Four of us went for afternoon tea at this very exclusive and unique hotel. Food was absolutely delicious and staff were very welcoming and very attentive to all of our needs during the afternoon. Would highly recommend . It was a lovely experience and well worth a visit.

The welcome was lovely - great choice of teas and the setting is opulent.
Very tasty and plentiful selection of sandwiches + delicious and interesting cakes. Plus, of course, scones with jan and clotted cream. Yum!!

We really enjoyed our afternoon tea.
Food was delicious and it was a relaxed atmosphere. We took our three children who all enjoyed the children's menu too.

I have been to Great John street before for lunch and indeed afternoon tea but the service this time was very poor in fact my friend and I didnt want to pay the service charge so didnt. Disappointingly even then we werent asked for reason. Quality of food was good as ever but let down by poor service. I had intended to buy for another 2 tickets for my daughter in law as a treat but with the service being poor i decided not to bother. Shame as always found this hotel lovely. Can honestly say having been a fan I am now put off going again.

Venue lovely, staff friendly but sandwiches poor - no salmon, no cheese as advertised - I don't think branston and cucumber constitutes a filling.
